Los términos más comunes de la cocina japonesa y dónde comer sushi en la CDMX

¡Hola mis amores! He tenido unos días muy ocupados pero estoy súper feliz de escribirles otra vez en el blog. Hoy quiero platicarles más sobre mi comida favorita que ya saben que es el sushi y los términos que se refieren a ingredientes, métodos de preparación, especias y presentaciones. En su idioma original, pueden parecer imposibles de descifrar pero la realidad es que casi son un lenguaje universal (o mínimo para los que amamos el sushi jajaja). Para evitarte esas preguntas incómodas y con toooda la intensión de que aprendamos juntos a pedir platillos como verdaderos japoneses, investigué un poco sobre los términos que más van a encontrar en los menús de este tipo de comida. 

Hi my loves! I have had some busy days but I'm very happy to write in the blog. Today I want to tell you everything I know about my favorite food, sushi and the terms that refer to ingredients, preparation methods, spices and presentations. In their original language, they may seem impossible to decipher but the reality is that this words are almost a universal language (or minimum for those who love sushi hahaha). To avoid those uncomfortable questions and, I researched about the terms that you'll find in japanese menus. 

Sushi: Significa “bocado conservado” y está elaborado con pescado crudo y una gran variedad de ingredientes y condimentos.

Sushi: Means "preserved snack" and is made with raw fish and a variety of ingredients and seasonings.

Ebi: Camarón

Ebi: Shrimp

Maki: Es un sushi en rollo, cortado en 10 o 12 partes.

Maki: It's a sushi roll, cut into 10 or 12 parts.

Masago: Hueva de capelán.

Masago: Capelin roe.

Maguro: Atún.

Maguro: Tuna.

Temaki: Es mejor conocido como un cono hecho con alga relleno de distintos ingredientes.

Temaki: It is better known as a cone made with seaweed stuffed with different ingredients.

Kani: Cangrejo.

Kani: Crab.

Omakase: Significa “encargo” o “protección”. Dicen los expertos que cuando pides uno, te pones en las manos del chef y que él seleccionará las piezas con las que formará el platillo, usando lo que tiene en ese momento. De solo pensarlo se me antoja jajaja.

Omakase: It means "protection". Experts say that when you order one, you put yourself in the hands of the chef and that he will select the pieces with which he will make the dish, using what he has at that moment. 

Para complementar el post, quiero revelarles cuáles son mis tres restaurantes favoritos de sushi en la CDMX, seguramente me van a encontrar ahí una o varias veces a la semana.

El Japonez

Ofrece una amplia selección de comida japonesa en un ambiente cool y trendy. De este lugar amo los sashimis y los sushis en rollo.

Amo este lugar por su variedad de platillos y por las frescura de sus ingredientes.

Otro de mis favoritos, me encanta el arroz y la soya de este lugar.

Pequeños trucos para cuidar mi figura

¡Hola mis amores! Estos días lluviosos pero calurosos me recordaron que el verano está súper cerca y con él, la playa, el sol y el bikini jajaja. Aunque los que me conocen bien saben que casi nunca estoy a dieta, tengo que confesarles que sí tengo algunos trucos para mantener mi peso. Aunque amo y podría comer sushi y pasta diario y a todas horas, también estoy consciente de que tengo que cuidarme y mantenerme sana. También estoy 100% convencida de que todo está en las porciones y de que no necesitamos renunciar al chocolate ni al café o saturar nuestro cuerpo de proteínas para que la báscula sonría a nuestro favor. Mi recomendación es sumarle a tu día a día estos pequeños secretos que te comparto a continuación. ¡Espero que te sirvan mucho!

Hi my loves! These rainy but warm days reminded me that summer time is close and also the beach days and bikinis hahaha. Although those who know me well know that I almost never go on a diet, I have to confess that I do have some tricks to maintain my weight. Although I love and could eat sushi and pasta daily, I'm also aware that I have to take care of myself and stay healthy. I'm also 100% convinced that everything is in the portions and that we don't need to give up chocolate or coffee or saturate our body of proteins to loose weight. Add these little secrets to your day to day, you'll see the difference!

Come más

Sí, aunque suene contradictorio, este es mi mantra para mantenerme fit. Lo que tu metabolismo necesita para mantenerse activo es que no te pongas en "estricto". Entre más alimento le quites, más retendrá lo que le das. Hacer cinco comidas al día es básico, empezando con un buen desayuno, dos snacks, una comida completa y una cena ligera. Mis amigas expertas en nutrición siempre me dicen que es fundamental no saltarnos comidas porque lo único que conseguimos con esto es tener mucha hambre y rebotar. 

Eat more

This is my mantra. What your metabolism needs to stay active is that you don't put yourself in "restrictive mode". The less food you eat, the more you'll retain what you give to your body. Making five meals a day is basic, starting with a good breakfast, two snacks, a full meal and a light dinner. 

Agua tibia con limón

Aunque parezca consejo de abuelita, todos los días después de comer pido una taza de agua tibia y le exprimo medio limón. Sí, esté en donde esté lo hago. ¿Para qué sirve? El limón funciona como antiséptico y agente activo. Además, tiene flavonoides que actuán como antioxidantes y ayudan a la digestión. 

Water with lemon

Every day after eating I ask for a cup of warm water and half a lemon. Yes, wherever I'm, I do it. What is it for? Lemon works as an antiseptic and active agent. In addition, it has flavonoids that act as antioxidants and help improve digestion.

Cambia las uvas por frutos rojos

Está comprobado: aunque las uvas son deliciosas, son una de las frutas con mayor cantidad de azúcar. Desde que lo descubrí, con todo el dolor de mi corazón las cambié por fresas y frambuesas. Cuando quiero que tengan un toque más dulce, les agrego medio sobrecito de edulcolorante. 

Change grapes for red fruits

Grapes are delicious but they are one of the fruits with the highest amount of sugar. Since I discovered it, I exchanged them for strawberries and raspberries. When I want them to have a sweeter touch, I add half a pack of sweetener.

No quites los carbohidratos al 100%

El secreto no está en dejar la pasta o el arroz integral sino en alejarte de las papitas, los cereales azucarados y los alimentos refinados. Cada una de mis comidas tiene un carbohidrato pero en la noche trato de cambiar el pan por fruta o legumbres.

Don't stop eating carbs.

The secret is not to leave the pasta or brown rice but to get away from chips, cereals and refined foods. Each of my meals has a carbohydrate but at night I try to change the bread for fruit or some vegetables.

Cambia el refresco por agua mineral

Hubo una temporada en la que sí hice dieta y no bajaba porque aunque controlaba lo que comía, seguía tomando cosas dulces como frappés o refrescos de dieta. Además de ser un freno, descubrí que me quitaban energía. Por eso hoy lo único que tomo es agua mineral o agua de sabores sin azúcar. 

Change the soda for water with gas
There was a season in which I did diet and didn't lost weight because although I controlled what I ate, I kept taking sweet things like frappés or diet sodas. Besides being a brake, I discovered that they took away my energy. That's why today the only thing I take is mineral water and natural water.

Dile sí al vinagre de manzana

Todas las mañanas lo primero que hago además de ver Instagram jajaja es tomar un vaso de agua tibia con una cucharada diluida de vinagre de manzana. Este elixir depura el organismo y acelera el metabolismo. 

Say yes to apple cider vinegar
Every morning the first thing I do besides seeing Instagram hahaha is to drink a glass of warm water with a diluted spoonful of apple cider vinegar. This elixir cleanses the body and accelerates metabolism.

Toma té verde

Mi infusión favorita es té verde, limón, menta y jengibre. Además de ser una delicia a cualquier hora del día, esta bebida es rica en antioxidantes y tiene propiedades digestivas, diuréticas y refrescantes. 

Green Tea

My favorite is green tea, lemon, mint and ginger. Besides being a delight at any time of the day, this drink is rich in antioxidants and has digestive, diuretic and refreshing properties.

Mis razones para no dejar de comer pasta

¡Hola mis amores! Ahora que ya se acerca el verano, lo primero que nos viene a la mente para vernos como queremos en la playa es cuidar nuestra alimentación. Aunque estoy muy a favor de llevar un estilo de vida saludable, también sé que simplemente no puedo vivir sin algunas delicias como la pasta. Estoy feliz porque recientemente leí un artículo que dice que contrario a las creencias populares, un estudio hecho por el Instituto Mediterráneo Neurológico afirma que la pasta no genera un aumento de peso, sino al contrario. 

Hi my loves! Now that summer is almost here, the first thing that comes to my mind is to look cool on the beach so the first thing we think we need to take care about is our food. Although I'm  in favor of living a healthy lifestyle, I also know that I simply can't live without some food like pasta. I'm happy because I recently read an article that says that a study done by the Mediterranean Neurological Institute states that pasta it's not as bad as we think!

Lejos de preocuparnos por subir o no unos kilitos después de disfrutar de un buen plato de fetuccini, no hay que olvidar nunca que es uno de los pilares de la dieta mediterránea por ser una fuerte de energía. Uno de mis secretos para aguantar ir diario al gym es este carbohidrato en las cantidades adecuadas. Por eso y más, te dejo estas razones por las que NUNCA la voy a eliminar de mi vida jajaja.

In addition, we must never forget that it is one of the pillars of the Mediterranean diet because it is a strong source of energy. One of my secrets to endure going to the gym every day is this carbohydrate in the proper amounts. For that reason and more, I leave you these reasons why I will NEVER quit pasta hahaha.

1.     Es muy versátil. Para mí, es una base perfecta para acompañar con diferentes proteínas o verduras y así lograr un plato completo. Además, es muy fácil y rápida de hacer. 

1. You can eat it with everything. For me, it is a perfect base to mix with different proteins or vegetables and thus achieve a complete dish. In addition, it is very easy and quick to do.

2.     Es una fuente de energía saludable. Además de ser una delicia, nos aporta la cantidad adecuada de energía para mantener el ritmo rápido de actividad diario.

2. It is a healthy energy source. And it gives us the right amount of energy to keep up with the rapid pace of daily activity.

3. Ayuda a mejorar el rendimiento durante la actividad física. Cada día compruebo más lo importantes que son los carbohidratos para nuestro cuerpo y lo indispensables que son para que funcionemos con normalidad.

3. Helps to improve performance during physical activity. Every day I check more how important carbs are for our body and how essential they are for us to function normally.

Después de leer esto, ya no necesitarás más pretextos para comerla cuando menos una vez a la semana. Todo es posible en las cantidades adecuadas. ¡A disfrutar! Los amo.

Los tipos de zapatos más favorecedores de la temporada

¡Hola mis amores! Los zapatos son parte fundamental de un outfit, al grado que una mala elección y podría arruinarse por completo. A mí me fascinan de todos los colores y formas, ¡y cada temporada me enamoro más y más de nuevas colecciones! (jaja). Pero si lo que buscas es hacer que tus piernas se vean un poco más estilizadas, hay algunos tipos de zapatos básicos de esta temporada que te ayudarán a lograrlo. Me han preguntado varias veces cuáles son mis tips y hoy decidí compartírselos para que los tomen en cuenta la próxima vez que compren un par. ¡Feliz sábado! Los amo. 

Hello my loves! Shoes are one of the main characteristics of an outfit. A bad choice and it could be ruined completely. You know I adore shoes in every color and form, and every season I fall in love with new collections! LOL. But if you want to make your legs look a little bit more stylized, these are 5 basis types of shoes you must wear this season to achieve it. I 've been asked several times what my tips are and today I decided to share them. Happy Saturday! I love youuu!!!

1.    Dile bye a los tacones anchos (por ahora)

Puedes usar tacones altos o bajos, siempre y cuando el tacón sea delgado. Los tacones delgados logran verse más estilizados que los tacones anchos, mismo efecto que causan a tus piernas. ¡Si me ves usando tacones anchos es porque son súper cómodos!

1.    Say goodbye to wide heels

You can wear high or low heels, as long as they are thin. Thin heels are more stylized than wide ones, the same effect they create in your legs.

2. Zapatos con el empeine descubierto

Estos los puedes encontrar en diferentes formas, como tacones o flats, pero lo importante es que dejen la parte superior de tu pie al descubierto y, sobre todo, elige usar los tonos oscuros, pues visualmente alargan tus piernas. 

2.    Foot’s instep open

You could find those in different forms, such as heels or flats, but it is important that they leave the top of your foot uncovered. Choose dark colors to create a visual effect of longer legs.

3. Usa zapatos del mismo color que tu outfit

Si usas unos pantalones rojos, prueba usar también zapatos del mismo color. Visualmente, los colores se combinan haciendo que tus piernas se vean mucho más largas de lo normal. ¡Te va a encantar este efecto!

3.    Wear your shoes the same color as your outfit

If you wear red pants, try red shoes too. Visually, your legs would look longer. You’ll love this effect!

4. Zapatos de punta

Pueden ser high heels o tipo bailarina, pero asegúrate que terminen en punta y evita, por sobre todas las cosas, los zapatos 100% redondeados.

4. Pointed shoes

Again, you can wear high heels or flat ones, but be sure they are pointed and avoid completely rounded shoes.

5. Los zapatos en color nude o en blanco

El efecto que hacen estos zapatos ante los ojos es impresionante, pues se mezclan con el color de tu piel logrando un efecto de piernas infinitas.

Puedes usar stilettos, flats o el tipo que más te guste, pero busca que el tono de nude sea muy parecido a tu tono de piel.

5.    Nude shoes

They mix with the color of your skin and you look like having infinite legs. You can wear any kind of shoes that you want, but make sure the nude tone is similar to the tone of your skin.

¡Hola mis amores! Hace unos días estuve en NYC en uno de los happenings que más me gustan de la temporada: el Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic en Liberty State Park y hoy quiero platicarles un poco más sobre este viaje al me han invitado durante los últimos años. 

Hi my loves! A few days ago I was in NYC in one of the coolest happenings of the season: the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Liberty State Park and today I want to tell you a little more about this trip that I've been invited over the last few years. 

El viernes de la semana pasada viajé a esta que es una de mis ciudades favoritas y después de llegar al hotel, me invitaron a un cóctel al que solo fui un ratito porque me fui a descansar. El sábado en la mañana (ya con las pilas al 100%) desayuné, me arreglé y llegamos al partido a medio día. 

Last week I traveled to one of my favorite cities (NYC) and when I arrived, latter that day we had a cocktail which I only went for a little while because I needed to sleep. On Saturday morning I had breakfast got ready and arrived to the polo match at midday.

Durante el día viví de cerca el emocionante partido liderado por el jugador Nacho Figueras mientras disfrutaba de un picnic y champaña con mis amigas. ¡No saben que deli estaba la comida! Me acuerdo y se me antoja todo otra vez jaja. 

During the rest of the day I watched closely the exciting game led by the player Nacho Figueras while enjoying a picnic and champagne with my friends.

Sobre los looks que vi durante esta edición, algunas de las tendencias predominantes en fueron los colores pastel y los estampados florales. El outfit que escogí fue un top y falda en color negro y zapatos de colores, todo el look es de Fendi... ¿Les gustó? ¡Cuéntenme!

Las preguntas que recomiendo hacerte antes de comprar ropa nueva

¡Hola mis amores! Últimamente me he dedicado a ordenar mi clóset para saber qué tengo exactamente y usar las prendas ligeras en estos días de calor además de aprovechar para guardar toda la ropa y accesorios que uso solo en invierno (aunque con el clima de esta ciudad ya nunca se sabe jaja). Después de muchos años aprendiendo a comprar menos y mejor, creo firmemente en que antes de ir de shopping lo mejor es hacerte algunas preguntas para descubrir si eso que AMASTE ya sea en Zara o en Chanel por igual, es indispensable. Desde que empecé a seguir esta guía, dejé de tener ropa nueva colgada sin usar y aprendí a hacer inversiones mucho más atemporales. ¡Espero que les sirvan las respuestas! 

Hi, my loves! Lately I gave myself the task of putting my closet in order to know exactly what I have and use light clothes in these hot days and also to put away the clothes and accessories that I only use in winter (although with the weather of this city you never know LOL). ¿Con qué puedes combinarlo? 

Comprar un solo item de moda que te fascine no significa que necesites muchas cosas nuevas para completar el look. Cuando lo tengas en la mano, imagínate con qué cosas existentes en tu clóset podrías combinarlo. Te recomiendo pensar hasta en qué zapatos usarías. Si puedes visualizarlo de varias forma con lo que tienes actualmente, es una compra que vale la pena. 

What can I match this with in my current wardrobe?

Buying a single fashionable item that you love doesn't mean you need many new things to complete the look. When you have it in your hand, imagine with what existing things in your closet you could use it. If you can visualize it in several ways with what you currently have, it is a worthwhile addition.

Mi mejor consejo es que no compres algo que no te sientas bien usando. Todos tenemos esos artículos en nuestro clóset que colgados en la tienda se veían súper bonitos o que estaban en oferta, pero que simplemente no nos quedan bien o que no podemos combinarlos con nada.

My best advice is to not buy something you don't feel great wearing. We all have those items in our closet that looked nice in the store or that were on sale, but are tight in the wrong places or are totally inappropriate for just about any occasion.

De verdad... ¿te gusta?

En mis días de shopaholic compraba mucha ropa solo porque sí y lo justificaba diciéndome a mí misma que de alguna manera, en un momento u otro, me serviría. Una forma de comprobar si estás haciendo lo mismo es simplemente irse de la tienda (o cerrar la pestaña de esa página web jajaja). Si no puedes dejar de pensar en esa prenda o accesorio uno o dos días después, es 100% para ti. 

Do you really like it?

In my shopaholic days I bought a lot of clothes just for the sake of it and justified it by telling myself that somehow, at one time or another, it would serve me. One way to check if you are doing the same is to simply leave the store (or close the tab of that web page hahaha). If you can't stop thinking about that accessory one or two days later, it's 100% for you.

¡Feliz martes mis amores! Ayer platicando con mis amigas me enteré de un lanzamiento que estoy segura que también van a amar. Tenemos que aceptar que más de una vez hemos visto a alguien con un outfit increíble en la calle y lo primero que nos viene a la mente es: "¿dónde puedo comprarlo?". A mí me pasa más seguido de lo que se imaginan y por eso me parece increíble que ya exista una aplicación de Google con la que además de saber en qué lugar puedes encontrar cada prenda y accesorio de ese look que te fascinó, puedes comprarlo simplemente apuntando con tu cámara del celular. 

Happy Tuesday my loves! Yesterday I found out about a recently launched app that I'm sure you'll love too. More than once we've seen someone wearing something that you feel you need in your closet immediately and the first thing that comes to our minds is: "where can I buy it?". This happens to me more often than you imagine and that's why it seems unreal to me that there's a Google application that allows users to shop a stranger’s outfit by simply pointing their camera at it.

Así es como funciona: después de identificar una prenda que deseas, puedes usar tu cámara y la tecnología de reconocimiento de imágenes en tiempo real de Google Lens. Esta aplicación llamada Google Style Match, te desplegará el artículo exacto o una prenda similar y te dará la opción para comprarla en el momento a través de Google Shopping.

This is how it works: after identifying a piece of clothing by using your camera and the Google Lens real-time image recognition technology, this app called Style Match, will display the exact item or a similar one and will give you the option to buy it at the moment through Google Shopping.

The new Google Lens will work right in the native camera app, allowing the user to tap on what she/he is seeing to learn more, shop similar items, or translate a menu. 📸📱

El único inconveniente es que Style Match por el momento únicamente está disponible para Android por lo que no sé si cambiarme de celular para probar esto ASAP jaja.

Ella siempre será una de mis favoritas si hablamos de estilo. Por una parte admiro mucho que escogiera este vestido de Alexander McQueen –el mismo diseñador que usó en su boda– en color neutro para dejarte todo el protagonismo de Meghan pero tengo que aceptar que soy tan fan del tocado de Philip Treacey... Si tuviera que usar este look definitivamente le agregaría toques de color. 

She will always be one of my favorites if we talk about style. On the one hand, I admire that she chose this dress by Alexander McQueen -the same designer she used at her wedding- in a neutral color to leave all of Meghan's role but I have to accept that I'm such a fan of Philip Treacey's headdress ... If I had that using this look would definitely add touches of color.

¡Hola mis amores! Como pudieron ver en Instagram, esta semana todo gira alrededor de la boda de Meghan Markle y el príncipe Harry y de Cannes. La verdad es que no soy muy fan de seguir las alfombras rojas pero esta en particular me gusta mucho porque además de darnos una idea de cuáles son las nuevas tendencias en vestidos de fiesta, la muestra de joyería es espectacular y siempre hay una que otra famosa que rompe las reglas o el protocolo a favor de la liberación femenina como Cate Blanchett y Kristen Stewart.

Hi my loves! As you could see on Instagram, this week everyone is talking about the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and about the Cannes Film Festival. The truth is that I'm not a fan of following the red carpets but I particularly like this because besides giving us an idea of what the new trends are in party dresses, the jewelery show is spectacular and there are always a few celebs that breaks the rules in favor of women's liberation like Cate Blanchett and Kristen Stewart.

SÍ A LAS TRANSPARENCIAS

Este año, los vestidos con transparencias que usó Kendall Jenner son de mis favoritos y de los que generaron mayor polémica (aunque no estoy segura de que los usaría jajaja). Primero, la modelo fue a la fiesta de Chopard en Cannes con un vestido verde brillante firmado por La Perla. Al día siguiente usó un vestido blanco de Schiaparelli Alta Costura. ¡Me encantó la parte de atrás! Además de las transparencias, el escote palabra de honor –uno de los más amados y temidos– hizo su regreso más fuerte que nunca. Me encantó como lo usaron famosas como Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, Sara Sampaio y Josephine Skriver.

This year, the dresses with that Kendall Jenner used are among my favorites and those that generated the most controversy (although I'm not sure I would wear them hahaha). Una de las reglas actuales en Cannes es que todas las mujeres que pisen la alfombra roja deben de usar tacón alto –están prohibidos los zapatos planos–. En esta edición, Kristen Stewart volvió a saltarse esta regla al caminar descalza mientras usaba un vestido metalizado. Empecemos con mi favorito, el café. Como saben no puedo vivir sin él y una de las razones por la que lo amo es porque contiene muchos antioxidantes lo cual retrasa el envejecimiento de la piel. Los granos de café recién molidos ayudan a eliminar las manchas de la piel además de mantenernos despiertos y alerta.

Among so many healthy food trends, açai is my favorite. Besides being a delici, the fruit of a palm tree native to the Amazon, is considered a superfood because of its high content of polyphenols that are antioxidants that help the destruction of cancer cells being ten times more powerful than grapes.

Esta fruta que amo comer en bowls como desayuno, también es un buen aliado de nuestra piel gracias a sus propiedades. Las fresas tienen propiedades antiinflamatorias, son un tónico natural y actúan protegiendo la piel de los rayos UV. 

Strawberries

This fruit, which I love to eat in bowls, is also a good ally of our skin thanks to its properties. Strawberries have anti-inflammatory properties, are a natural tonic and act to protect the skin from UV radiation. 

Matcha

Como muchas otras variantes del té verde, está formado por una serie de antioxidantes llamados catequinas, los cuales se cree que tienen la capacidad para combatir células cancerígenas en nuestros cuerpos. Por otro lado, distintos estudios científicos relacionaron este tipo de hoja con distintas mejoras para la salud, como prevenir problemas cardiacos, diabetes e inclusive perder peso.

Matcha

Matcha, like many other green tea variants, is made up with a series of antioxidants called catechins, which are believed to have the ability to fight cancer cells in our bodies. On the other hand, different scientific studies related this type of leaf with an immense variety of health benefits, like preventing heart problems, diabetes and even losing weight.

Naranjas

Muchos de ustedes me han preguntado qué productos uso para el cuidado de la piel. La verdad es que siempre trato de complementar mi rutina de belleza con frutas altas en beneficios como las naranjas. Estos cítricos no solo nos ayudan a prevenir resfriados y mantener reforzado nuestro sistema inmune, sino que por la cantidad de vitamina C y colágeno que contienen nos ayudan a prevenir las arrugas. Ungerir una al día será más que suficiente para que mantengas ese glow que siempre has querido.

Oranges

These delicious fruits not only help us prevent colds and boost our immune system but they also help us fill unwanted wrinkles because of the collagen and Vitamin C in them, eating a portion a day will be more than enough to get that glow you want.

Pepinos

Este vegetal es súper recomendable de comer pues es mega hidratante, la ventaja es que lo puedes consumir de mil maneras ya sea como snack, agregándolo a ensaladas o bebiéndolo en agua de pepino y limón.

Cucumbers

This vegetables are super good for you because they are very hydrant the advantage you get from eating them is that you can put them on salads, snack on them and even make a delicious and refreshing drink, combine it with lemons and mint. YUM!

Aguacate

Contiene grasas buenas o saludables y no tóxicas que proporcionan suavidad y el tener una piel tersa, ya sea que lo consumas en ensaladas, aderezos o en un delicioso avocado toast.

Avocado

Another one of my favorites without a doubt, this wonderful fruit contains healthy and good for you fats that are non toxic which gives us that smooth feel to our skin you can eat it on salads, dressings or dips or even a delicious and healthy avocado toast.

Quiero terminar este post recordándoles que somos lo que comemos así que hay que cuidar todo lo que ingerimos y elegir opciones saludables mínimo entre semana jajaja. También creo que es importante aplicar bloqueador diariamente sobretodo en partes donde nos da más el sol y que la piel se puede ver más afectada como la cara (el dorso de la nariz muy importante), cuello, escote y hombros además de tomar agua diariamente.

Finally I’d like to conclude this by reminding you that we are what we eat and everything we put into our bodies have to be healthy for us it’s also important to point out that skincare involves multiple thing such as applying sun lotion everyday specially in the areas were we get most damage like our face (the nose is very important), our neck, chest and shoulders, it’s also very important to stay hydrated and drink lots of water through out the day.

Las lecciones de estilo que aprendí de mi mamá

¡Hola mis amores! Todos tenemos recuerdos con nuestras mamás que son muy especiales y únicos. Nunca voy a olvidar cuando de chiquitas mi hermana y yo usábamos su ropa para jugar a que éramos ella. Creo que el primer contacto que tenemos con temas de moda, belleza y estilo, se lo debemos a nuestras mamás.

Hi my loves! We all have great memories with our moms that are very special and unique to us, I'm sure. I'll never forget when my sister and I wore her clothes and pretended that we were like her when we were younger. I think the first contact we have with fashion, beauty and style, we owe it to our moms.

Desde que tengo memoria, la mía siempre ha sido una mujer súper arreglada. Admiro las ganas y el tiempo que invierte diario para lograr sus looks y verse impecable sin importar si es un día común o una ocasión especial. Amo todo lo que ella escoge o compra y siento que nunca dejaré de estar enamorada de su estilo ya que es y será siempre, mi mayor inspiración. Tengo que confesar que siempre “tomaba prestada” toda su ropa y accesorios (aunque a ella no le fascinara la idea) y hasta le perdí un cosa alguna vez jajaja. Qué mejor que el día de hoy para decirles cuáles son algunas de las lecciones que aprendí de mi mamá y que me ayudaron a formar el estilo que me caracteriza. ¡Feliz Día de las Madres! Gracias a la mía por ser la mejor del mundo, por cuidarme y por estar a mi lado todos estos años. 

Ever since I can remember, mine has always been Wonder Woman pretty much. I admire the time she spends every day to achieve her looks even if it's just the middle of the week or for those special occasions. I love everything she chooses or buys and I feel that I'll always be in love with her style. She is and always will be my greatest inspiration. I have to confess that I always "borrowed" all her clothes and accessories (although she didn't like the idea very much) and I even lost a few things along the way hahaha. Today is Mother's Day in Mexico so I want to to tell you what are the fashion tips that I learned from my mother and that helped me shape my style. Happy Mothers Day! Thanks to my mom for being the best in the world, for taking care of me and for being always by my side all these years.

1. Aprende a arreglarte tú.

Muchos de ustedes siempre me preguntan a qué salón de belleza va mi mamá y la respuesta es que ella solita se arregla. Esta es probablemente la mejor lección que me ha dado mi mamá ya que desde siempre me ha enseñado que lo no siempre vamos a tener a un makeup artist o stylist que nos ayude a sacarle provecho a nuestra imagen. Por eso, su mejor secreto de estilo es peinarse y maquillarse ella. Lo mejor de esto es que puede hacerlo desde el lugar que esté.

1. Learn to take advantage of your style without anyone elses help.

Many of you always ask me what beauty salon my mom goes to and the answer is that she does her own hair & makeup. This is probably the best lesson that my mom has given me. She  taught me that we'll not always have a makeup artist or stylist to help us make the most of our glam sessions. That's why her best style secret is knowing how to do her own hair and make up.

2. Dile sí a la ropa a la medida.

Además de heredarme su amor al shopping jaja, el amor de mi mamá por la ropa a la medida me ayudó a descubrir mi amor por la moda y por el diseño textil. Además de toda la ropa y accesorios que tiene, siempre trata de hacerse vestidos con una costurera en casa para tener prendas 100% únicas.

2. Say yes to custom clothing.

In addition to inheriting her love for shopping haha, my moms fondness for custom clothing helped me discover my love for fashion and textile design. Even with all the clothes and accessories she already has, my mother always tries to make dresses with a seamstress at home to have 100% unique clothes.

3. Invierte en accesorios. 

Como nunca pude usar los zapatos de mi mamá porque no somos del mismo número, tuve que empezar a comprar mis propios zapatos de diseñador. Me acuerdo bien que en lo primero que invertí fue en unos zapatos clásicos de tacón y en una bolsa negra. ¡Todavía los sigo teniendo! El mejor tip de mi mamá aquí es en comprar accesorios clásicos y atemporales para poderlos combinar con cualquier look.

3. Invest in accessories.

Since I could never use my mom's shoes because we are not the same size, I had to start buying my own designer shoes. I remember that the first thing I invested in was classic heeled shoes and a black purse. I still have them! The best tip from my mom is to buy classic and timeless accessories to be able to use them with lots of looks.

High-Waisted Jeans & Pants: Mis fórmulas para usarlos

¡Feliz lunes mis amores! Como ya saben, estoy enamorada de los pantalones de cintura alta y son un elemento básico en mi clóset. Por ello, saber cómo armar el look perfecto es obviamente esencial. El secreto está en combinarlos con piezas que tengan las proporciones correctas o hasta agregar un cinturón y una chamarra para maximizar el look. ¡Arte Careyes 2018 con Mercedes-Benz!

¡Hola mis amores! Espero que estén teniendo una semana increíble. Hoy quiero contarles que hace unos días estuve en Careyes, uno de mis destinos favoritos en México que está entre Manzanillo y Puerto Vallarta. El fin de semana empezó conociendo la casa que Mercedes-Benz escogió para todos los que nos quedamos ahí. ¡El lugar está irreal! Lo primero que hicimos después de estar un rato en el sol fue probar la cocina típica. Todo estuvo delicioso, lo disfruté muchísimo.

Hi my loves! I hope you are having an amazing week. Today I want to tell you that a few days ago I was in Careyes, one of my favorite destinations in Mexico which is between Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta. The weekend started by touring the house that Mercedes-Benz chose for all of us to stay at. This place is amazing! The first thing we did after spending some time by the pool was to taste the typical food. It was all delicious!

La razón de nuestra visita, además de conmemorar los 25 años de Mercedes-Benz en México, fue la octava edición de Arte Careyes. Año con año en este festival se engloban diferentes categorías como cine, música, arte y propuestas culturales. Fiestas, cenas y diferentes muestras o exposiciones, son algunas de las celebraciones incluidas en el festival más conocido de la costa del Pacífico.

The reason why we went to Careyes, besides commemorating the 25 years of Mercedes-Benz in Mexico, was for the eighth edition of Arte Careyes. Every year this festival includes different categories to it such as cinema, music, art and more. Parties, dinners and different exhibitions are some of the celebrations included in this festival at the Pacific coast.

Una de las cosas que más me gustaron del viaje fue el recorrido que hicimos por las playas vírgenes y la selva para probar las camionetas de off-road de Mercedes Benz. ¡AMÉ la experiencia! Al terminar la prueba, visitamos el ícono de Careyes: la Copa del Sol. 

One of the things I liked the most about the trip was the trip we took on the beach and the jungle inside the Mercedes Benz off-road cars. I LOVED this experience! At the end of the ride, we visited La Copa del Sol.

En la noche fuimos a una cena y a una fiesta pero casi siempre tratamos de disfrutar el día lo más posible y sobre todo, descansar.

In the evenings we attended to some dinner parties but also took the time to rest and enjoy the sun as much as possible.

Mis tips con los esenciales para disfrutar del sol

¡Hola mis amores! Les escribo este post muy feliz desde Careyes, un lugar mágico entre Puerto Vallarta y Manzanillo en el que les doy mis tips esenciales para disfrutar de mucha diversión bajo el sol. ¡Espero que les sean muy útiles y que los apliquen este o cualquier fin de semana! 

Hi my loves! I'm very happy to write this post from Careyes, a magical place between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo, in which I tell you my best advices to have fun in the sun. I hope you find them very useful!

1. Haz una playlist para escuchar en la playa.

Sin importar el lugar, siempre que vayas a algún spot paradisiaco, un elemento fundamental para hacer que tu día sea inolvidable es la música. Ya sea que lleves una bocina portátil o simplemente la escuches con audífonos, es increíble ponerle soundtrack a tus mejores momentos en la playa mientras tomas un drink. Abajo les puse una que me gusta mucho para que sumen algunas de estas canciones a la suya... 

Have an specific playlist to listen on the beach.

Whenever you go to a paradisiacal place, a fundamental element to make your day unforgettable is the right music. Whether you carry a portable speaker or just listen to it with headphones, it's amazing to put soundtrack to your best moments on the beach while having a drink. Here is one that I really like... 

Alegra tu día con lo más pop para la mañana.

2. Lleva en la maleta únicamente lo que necesites.

Empacar para ir a la playa es MIL VECES más fácil. Primero que nada, todo ocupa menos espacio y se acomoda mejor. Esto es perfecto porque puedo llevar muchísimos looks en una sola maleta. Siempre lo primero que empaco son los zapatos y sandalias, una bolsa con bronceadores, protector solar y mi maletita de baño. ¡Todavía me sobra espacio! Entonces meto algunas bolsas de playa grandes. 

2. Only carry what you need...

Packing to go to the beach is THOUSAND TIMES easier. First of all, everything takes up less space and fits better in my suitcase. The first thing I pack is shoes and sandals, a bag with sunscreen, sunscreen and my bath suitcase. I still have plenty of space! Then I put some big beach bags.

3. Selecciona tus looks de playa desde antes.

Un truco que me sirve mucho para no olvidar cosas, es hacer mi maleta pensando exactamente qué bikini o traje de baño voy a usar con ese vestido que tanto me gusta y qué zapatos le quedan bien para no llevar de más pero tampoco necesitar otras prendas o accesorios.

3. Select your looks before being on the beach.

A trick that helps me a lot so I don't forget to pack things is to make my suitcase thinking exactly what bikini or swimsuit I'm going to wear with that dress that I like so much and what shoes fit well so as not to wear too much but not need other clothes or accessories.

4. No olvides los accesorios.

Cuando era más chica me acuerdo que nunca llevaba bolsa a la playa porque no quería que se llenara de arena, pero con el tiempo fui entendiendo que en ella podía guardar cosas fundamentales para la protección de la piel el bloqueador, mis bronceadores, el protector que uso en el pelo y más. ¡Me fascinan y son el complemento ideal!

When I was younger I remember that I never carried a bag to the beach because I did not want it to be filled with sand, but over time I understood that I could store essential things for the protection of the skin, such as the sunscreen, my sunscreens, protector that I use on my hair and more. Un día en el Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week México 2018

¡Hola mis amores! Hoy quiero escribirles sobre esta nueva edición de #MBFWMx que impulsa a la CDMX y celebra 25 años de la presencia de Mercedes-Benz en nuestro país. La plataforma de moda más reconocida en México arrancó la primera temporada del año con 25 desfiles y presentaciones en otros increíbles formatos. Cada día estoy más convencida de que la moda es el nuevo orgullo de México y que nuestro país ya es una de las grandes capitales del diseño. En lo personal y desde que empecé a ser blogger siempre he recibido mucho apoyo y cariño por parte de los diseñadores mexicanos y latinoamericanos, por lo que siempre estaré infinitamente agradecida. Es y seguirá siendo un orgullo usar prendas y accesorios caracterizados por ser innovadores, de calidad y 100% hechos en México. Este año, tuve la oportunidad de ir dos días al Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week México y les voy a contar a qué pasarelas fui y un poco más sobre las nuevas propuestas de dos de mis diseñadores favoritos: Kris Goyri y Sandra Weil.

Hi my loves! Today I want to tell you about this new edition of #MBFWMx that seeks to highlight Mexico City and celebrates that Mercedes-Benz has been 25 years in our country. The most recognized fashion platform in Mexico started the first season of the year with 25 fashion shows and other incredible formats. Every day I'm more and more convinced that Mexico is already one of the greatest fashion capitals. Since I started with this blog, I've always received a lot of support and affection from Mexican and Latin American designers, so I'll always be grateful. It is a pleasure for me to wear garments and accessories characterized by being innovative, high quality and 100% made in Mexico. This year, I had the opportunity to go two days to Fashion Week Mexico so I'll tell you a little more about the new collections of two of my favorite designers: Kris Goyri & Sandra Weil.

SANDRA WEIL

Mi semana empezó en el Centro Histórico a lado de la Catedral Metropolitana. Sandra Weil escogió Seminario 12 –una de las nuevas sedes de este #MBFWMx– para presentar su propuesta. Me encantó que la colección fue expuesta como "obras de arte" y que la inspiración fue el pintor mexicano Miguel Ángel Cordera. Los 30 looks estuvieron centrados principalmente en vestidos largos, jumpsuits y siluetas relajadas en telas funcionales pero sofisticadas plasmadas en distintos tonos neutros además de colores vibrantes como el rojo y el rosa.

My week started in the Historic Center next to the Metropolitan Cathedral. Sandra Weil chose Seminario 12 (one of the new venues of this # MBFWMx). I loved that the collection was presented in a kind of exhibition and that the inspiration was the abstract work of the Mexican painter Miguel Ángel Cordera. The 30 looks were mainly focused on long dresses, jumpsuits and relaxed silhouettes in functional but sophisticated fabrics and different neutral tones as well as vibrant colors such as red and pink.

KRIS GOYRI

En la noche de ese mismo día, hice el takeover de Kris Goyri en Instagram en el que traté de enseñarles cada uno de los detalles de la pasarela: desde lo mejor del backstage y la creación de algunos beauty looks, hasta el outfit que Kris escogió para que usara ese día y mis looks favoritos vistos en la pasarela. Su colección llamada "Mictlán" (término que en la mitología de la cultura azteca era utilizado para referirse al nivel inferior de la tierra de los muertos). Me fascinaron cada una de las prendas en las que predominaron los colores negro, blanco y amarillo además de las transparencias, asimetrías y aplicaciones. 

On the night of that same day, I did a takeover on Instagram in which I tried to show them each of the details of the runway: from the best of the backstage and the creation of some beauty looks, to the outfit that Kris chose to use that day and my favorite looks. His collection called "Mictlán" -a term in the mythology of the Aztec culture that was used to refer to the lower level of the land of the dead. I loved each look in black, white & yellow as well as the asymmetries and gauzy pieces.

¡Hola mis amores! En esta ocasión me gustaría platicarles sobre algunas de las personas de más de 70 años que son muy relevantes en el ámbito de la moda. Todos estos personajes han formado parte de este maravilloso mundo y han inspirado a diseñadores, modelos, bloggers y periodistas por sus largas y exitosas carreras.

Hello my loves! This time around I’d like to talk to you about the people over 70 years old that are still making noise and are still relevant in the fashion industry. All of these amazing characters have been a part of this wonderful world of fashion and have inspired designers, models, bloggers and journalists for their long and successful careers.

Iris Apfel

Comencemos con la más famosa, conocida por sus extravagantes combinaciones de ropa y joyería en grandes formatos y de muchos colores, excelente sentido del estilo y por supuesto su gusto tan ecléctico por los lentes. Con sus 96 años esta GRAN personalidad ha influenciado y ha sido musa de grandes diseñadores y hasta le han dedicado toda una exposición a ella y a su estilo en el Metropolitan Art Museum en Nueva York. Apfel creció en Queens, Nueva York, y esta ciudad siempre la ha influenciado a ella en todo lo que hace, junto con su esposo Carl Apfel tenían una fábrica de textiles lo cual era el match perfecto dado a sus increíbles combinaciones para el diseño de interiores. Ha decorado en 6 administraciones diferentes diversos espacios de la Casa Blanca.

Lo que más admiro en ella es su capacidad de lograr looks completos combinando piezas de alta costura y marcas súper reconocidas junto con otras tipo vintage o que compra en los lugares más inesperados.

Iris Apfel

Let’s start with the most famous one, known for her extravagant combinations of clothing and jewelry in big formats and lots of colors, excellent sense of style and of course her eclectic taste in glasses. At 96 years old this HUGE personality has influenced and has been a muse for important designers and even has been dedicated a whole exhibit to her name at The Metropolitan Art Museum in New York. Apfel grew up in Queens, New York and this city has always influenced her in everything she does, along with her late husband Carl Apfel they used to run a textile company which made the perfect match given that she created  incredible combos for interior designing. She has decorated several rooms for the White House in 6 different administrations.

What I love the most about her is her ability to pull of complete looks mix and matching haute couture garments from very prestigious brands with other pieces vintage like or that maybe she found at the flea market.

Esta diseñadora recién retirada de las pasarelas es sin duda una de las más reconocidas en el mundo, súper exitosa y que ha empoderado a la mujer en los últimos 37 años de carrera. Esta maravillosa diseñadora de modas ha vestido a las mujeres más importantes e influyentes en el mundo como. Teniendo un emporio que cuenta con líneas de ropa Ready-to-Wear, Novias, Perfumería, bolsas y accesorios y alta costura, Carolina Herrera es un verdadero ícono que se ha encargado de vestir a la mujer elegante y sofisticada del día de hoy a lo largo de las últimas décadas. Reconocida por su gusto impecable, por siempre vestir muy elegante y chic, definitivamente una inspiración y una de mis favoritas de todos los tiempos.

This fashion designer has just retired from the runways and is without a doubt one of the most well known in the world, she’s super successful and has empowered women in the last 37 years through her career. This wonderful designer has dressed some of the most important and influential women in the world. Having an empire that counts with numerous clothing  lines like Ready-to-Wear, Bridal, Fragrances, handbags, accessories and haute couture. Carolina Herrera is a true icon that has taken the lead in dressing women elegantly and with sophistication since the last decades. Known for her impeccable taste, always dressing super classy and chic, she is definitely an inspiration and one of my faves of all times.

Joan Didion

Esta periodista y escritora trabajó durante 7 años para la revista VOGUE como editora y ha escrito numerosos artículos, obras de teatro, novelas y más. Esta maravillosa ensayista es muy respetada en el medio literario por su enfoque en la representación social y fragmentación psicológica, esto lo podemos ver en alguno de sus escritos como son: Run River (1963), Play It as It Lays (1970 y que más tarde la adaptó a una obra de teatro), Democracy (1984), entre otras. Ha ganado diversos premios  por su trabajo y su historia completa la podemos ver en el documental Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold (2017).

Born in Sacramento, California, journalist and writer, she worked for 7 years at VOGUE as an editor and has written a lot of articles, plays, novels and more. This amazing essayist is very well known and respected in the literary world for her social representation and psychological fragmentation, which we can see in some of her work like: Run River (1963), Play It as It Lays (1970 which later she adapted into a play), Democracy (1984), and more. She has won many awards for her work and her complete story we can catch by watching the documentary Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold (2017).

A sus 72 años de edad la espectacular modelo ha aparecido en diversas portadas de revistas de moda como Marie Claire y Harper’s Bazaar, ha sido musa de varios fotógrafos a lo largo de su carrera, sobretodo ha sido muy reconocida en nuestro país por haber aparecido en la campaña publicitaria de El Palacio de Hierro en el 2015. Otro aspecto por el cual es súper famosa es por haber sido la musa del pintor Salvador Dalí. Ella comenzó su carrera de modelaje por accidente al ser descubierta a los 13 años en un autobús en la ciudad de Nueva York por la esposa de un fotógrafo reconocido del momento. Su porte, elegancia y estilo la hacen una de las mujeres más bellas a la fecha.

Her poise, elegance and style makes her one of the most beautiful women alive.

This huge Internet personality has turned famous after turning 85 years old, WOW! She became famous for her pictures on Instagram and them having the hashtag that reads “Stealing your man since 1928” this social media celeb and pro legalizing medical marijuana enthusiast has more than 3 million followers and is constantly acclaimed for her eccentric pics wearing colorful and bold clothes.

Yayoi Kusama

Esta artista japonesa contemporánea es reconocida por sus pinturas, instalaciones, esculturas, poesía, moda y otras formas de expresión artísticas. Su trabajo es basado en un estilo conceptual inspirado sobretodo en el Pop Art, esta hippie de corazón plasma en su trabajo bajo esquemas de minimalismo, surrealismo y feminismo. Estudió en la Escuela de Artes de Kyoto y se mudó a Nueva York en 1958 para estar cerca de lo que más la inspiraba: el movimiento avant-garde. Algunas de sus piezas, instalaciones o performances se basan en el cuerpo desnudo en forma de protesta como lo hizo en los 60’s en contra de la Guerra de Vietnam. En el 2017 se inauguró el Yayoi Kusama Museum en Tokio en donde se exhiben muchas de sus piezas.

Yayoi Kusama

This japanese contemporary artist is known for her paintings, installations, sculptures, poetry, fashion and other artistic expressions. Her work is based in a conceptual style inspired mostly by Pop Art, this hippie at heart translates her work under a minimal, surreal and feminist scheme. She studied at the Kyoto School of Arts and Crafts and moved to New York in 1958 just so she could be close to her true love: the avant-garde movement. Some of her pieces, installations or performances are based on the human naked body as a form of protest like the ones she did in the 60’s against the Vietnam War. In 2017 the Yayoi Kusama Museum in Tokyo opened and her work is featured there.

Hi my loves! Today I'm writing to tell you more about my days with REVOLVE in Palm Springs. Once a year, this fashion brands calls music fans to attend the Revolve Festival, a big celebration in the desert that celebrates summer season with unique experiences: from pool parties, exclusive dinners and concerts. What I like most about this great event is that without being Fashion Week, you can see what are the new trends in fashion and beauty as well as being along with celebrities such as Kendall Jenner and Alessandra Ambrosio. This year, the brand rented out an entire hotel and set up the festival at an estate near by. Coachella Weekend: Lo mejor del festival hasta el día de hoy

¡Hola mis amores! Estoy feliz de estar en Coachella y en un ratito libre decidí contarles algunas de las aventuras que me esperan aquí y sobre las cosas que más me más me gustan y me emocionan de esta edición. Como ya les había platicado, el Festival de Música y Artes de Coachella Valley en California un gran homenaje a la música que empieza el 13 de abril y termina el 22 de abril. Hi my loves! I'm very happy to be in Coachella so I decided to tell you some of the adventures that await me here and about the things that I like the most and I'm thrilled about this edition. As I had already told you, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California is a great tribute to music that begins on April 13 and ends on April 22. REVOLVE FEST

Este año la firma organizó muchísimas fiestas y celebraciones durante los dos fines de semana y lo hicieron más divertido e intenso que nunca en Palm Springs. Me emociona mucho decirles que en unos días les escribiré un post para contarles todo sobre este evento. Al ser una firma de ropa, las prendas, el diseño y el estilo son los protagonistas. En mis primeros looks puedes ver mucho encaje, estampados étnicos, vestidos fluidos, crop tops y tejidos vaqueros.

This year the firm organized many parties and celebrations during the two weekends and made it more fun and intense than ever in Palm Springs. I am very excited to tell you that in a few days I will write a post to tell you all about this event. Being a clothing firm, garments, design and style are the protagonists. In my first looks you can see lots of lace, ethnic prints, flowing dresses, crop tops and jeans.

Aunque el festival dura dos fines de semana, en ambos actúan los mismos grupos y artistas. Los dos viernes el principal serán The Weeknd y Justin Timberlake, los sábados Beyoncé y Oasis y los domingos Eminem y Tame Impala. Ayer estuvo sobre el escenario de Coachella Beyoncé y, como todo el mundo esperaba, regaló un increíble show para consolidar su título de 'Queen B' usando un total look de Balmain. ¿Lo mejor de todo? ¡El reencuentro de Destiny's Child!

¡Feliz miércoles mis amores! Estoy feliz de regreso en Los Ángeles y justo anoche cené sushi en un lugar delicioso. The first time I went to this place the chef Morihiro Onodera was still in charge of the place and now that he left it, the quality remains the same. In this omakase sushi restaurant they are extremely delicate in their choice of ingredients. You will love in shari and the rice!

Q SUSHI

Sus diferentes menús de omakase están basados en la interpretación del chef Hiro y varían dependiendo la temporada, teniendo diferentes opciones cada día. El primer tiempo son los  tsumami (aperitivos minis), antes de sashimis y nigiris. ¿Lo mejor del lugar? El vinagre rojo con el que complementan el arroz y las salsas, sales y aderezos.

Their different omakase menus are based on the interpretation of Chef Hiro and vary depending on the season, having different options each day. The first meal are the tsumami (minis snacks), then they offer sashimis and nigiris. The best of the place? The red vinegar with which they make the rice and also the sauces, salts and dressings.

THE IZAKA-YA

Me encanta Tokio y este lugar da la sensación de estar en un izakaya –típico bar o restaurante japonés–. Además del Katsuya otros de mis platillos favoritos son el el rollo de miel, la torre de salmón y el cono tartare. ¡Este es mi lugar favorito de sushi en Los Ángeles!

I love Tokyo and this place gives the feeling of being in an izakaya-typical bar or Japanese restaurant. Besides the Katsuya, other of my favorite dishes are the honey roll, the salmon tower and the tartare cone. This is my favorite sushi place in LA!

NOZAWA BAR

Este restaurante está en mi top 3 por ser más pequeño e íntimo. Mientras que tal vez no son tan creativos como en otros lugares de sushi, la calidad del pescado es la mejor. 

This restaurant is in my top 3 for being smaller and more intimate. While maybe they are not as creative as in other sushi places, the quality of the fish is the best.
