MBFWmx: Mis desfiles favoritos

¡Hola, mis amores! Esta semana he andado en CDMX por el Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, y al igual que en NY, London y Milán y París, les tengo un recap de mis desfiles favoritos. Espero poder inspirarlos un poco a probar nuevas tendencias, pero sobre todo, a apoyar a los diseñadores mexicanos y latinoamericanos.

Hello, my loves! This past week I was in Mexico City at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and as well as NYC, London, Milan and Paris I made for you a recap of my favorite runway shows. I hope this inspires you to try new trends but most of all, to support Mexican and Latinamerican designers.

Benito Santos

Arrancando la semana, Benito Santos presentó su colección inspirada en la época dorada del cine mexicano. Lo que más me gustó es que predomina la combinación blanco y negro. Las transparencias y los flecos son una tendencia fuerte de primavera verano del próximo año.

Starting the week Benito Santos presented a collection inspired in the golden age of Mexican cinema. What I liked the most was the black and white combination. Some other strong trends were see-through fabrics and fringes.

Alexia Ulibarri

Me encantó la propuesta de esta temporada porque está llena de brillos, colores neon, glitter y estampados. Mis favoritos fueron los looks monocromáticos que por cierto, son tendencia para PV. Otra trend que Alexia presenta y que también estuvimos viendo en otros fashion week alrededor del mundo son los estampados tropicales.

I loved this proposal because is full of sparkle, neon colors, glitter and prints. My favorite looks were the monochromatic ones. Another trend that Alexia presented was the tropical prints for SS2019.

Kris Goyri

¡Este fue uno de mis favoritos! Empezando por la sede del desfile que fue en el periódico El Universal. La tendencia más fuerte es la color block en colores como amarillo, azul rey y naranjas. ¡Todo lo amé!

This was one of my favorites! The color blocking was one of the most powerful trends, colors like blue, yellow and orange. I loved it!

Julia y Renata

¡Tienen que ver estos aretes! Las prendas holgadas también predominaron esta pasarela junto con prendas asimétricas y muchísimo volumen. Otra tendencia en esta colección: los looks monocromáticos.

You had to see those earrings! The loose clothes also dominated this collection along with asymmetrical and voluminous clothes. Once again: monochromatic looks.

Armando Takeda

Este desfile en el Castillo de Chapultepec, destacó colores pasteles brillantes y prendas cómodas con distintas formas que le dan mucho movimiento a tu outfit. Por ejemplo los flecos o faldas asimétricas y, sobre todo, los parches.

This show took place at the the Chapultepec Castle and it was all about bright pastels and some of clothes had different shaped to them to give the outfits lots of movement. Such as fringes or asymmetric skirts and even patches.

Daniela Villa

La colección estuvo inspirada en Pedro Friedeberg, diseñador de México de origen italiano, conocido por su trabajo surrealista, está llena de dorado y aplicaciones en los vestidos, faldas y shorts asimétricos y amplios. Los colores principales fueron beige, negro, blanco, naranja, azul marino y nude. Lo más destacado: ¡sombreros!

This collection was inspired in Pedro Friedeberg, Italian designer from Mexico, known because of his surreal work. It is full of gold and asymmetric forms in skirts and shorts. The main colors were beige, black, white, orange, navy blue and nude. Highlight: hats!

¡Hola, mis amores! Seguro les ha pasado que se acuerdan que de chiquitos había cierta tendencia y que ahora esas mismas prendas se vuelven a usar y se ponen de moda otra vez, por ejemplo, ¿quién no usó overoles cuando era niño? ¡La moda es cíclica! Y aunque hay cosas que cambian, las trends vuelven una y otra vez. Eso mismo pasa este año con la ropa de los 70’s, por lo que les comparto mis mejores tips para que puedan usar prendas muy características de la época pero adaptadas a nuestro siglo.

Hello, my loves! Surely we all remember back when we were kids about some of the fashion trends that are actually in right now for example, who didn’t wear overalls as kids? Although there are some things that change with time some other trends come back again. This year one of the trends that came back is one that was used way back in the 70’s so I would like to share with you some of my best tips so you can wear these clothes.

Las principales tendencias de esa época son los pantalones acampanados, botas altas por encima de la rodilla, prendas metálicas, colores llamativos en ropa y accesorios, lentes grandes, prendas de cuero y zapatos de plataforma. ¿Te suenan familiar?

The main trends of that decade were bell-bottomed pants, knee length boots, metallics, bright colors and accessories, big sunglasses, leather clothes and platforms. Does it sound familiar to you?

Bell-Bottoms

Los pantalones acampanados los podrás encontrar en muchas texturas y telas diferentes, incluso en jeans. Aprovéchalos para balancear tu figura.

You can find bell-bottoms in many fabric samples even denim. Use them to give your body some balance and shape.

Metallics

Las prendas metálicas llevan ya un rato siendo tendencia. El twist que les puedes dar en tu look es buscar prendas metálicas pero de colores. ¡Son lo máx!

Metallic pieces are back for good. The best part about them is that you can find lots of colors, give them a try. I love them!

Mix and Match

¡Las reglas están para romperse! Atrévete a usar prendas de diferentes colores y texturas. ¡Amo jugar con mis looks y hacer muchas combinaciones!

Rules are meant to be broken! Wear clothes in different colors and textures. I love to play with my looks and make lots of combo

High-knee

Si siempre te han gustado este tipo de botas, ahora es el momento. Este estilo me encanta porque puedes usar una sudadera o blusa oversize o un vestido y se ve perfecto con las botas por encima de las rodillas.

If you have always liked this type of boots now is the time to wear them. I love this style because you can wear an oversize shirt with them and create a fab look.

¡Hola, mis amores! Espero que estén teniendo un buen miércoles. Quise escribirles este post para ayudarlos a que su semanita sea más fácil haha.

Como saben, me encanta viajar y amo conocer lugares nuevos, y aunque me fascinan muchos lugares alrededor del mundo, estos son mis favoritos para viajar que tienen que conocer alguna vez en la vida. Créanme que no fue nada fácil elegirlos.

Hello, my loves! I hope you are having a great Wednesday! I wanted to write this post to help us all feel that the weekend is getting near lol. As you may know already, I love to travel and to go to new places, so here are my favorite destinations to spend the holidays. Believe me, it was not easy to choose them.

Maldivas

Por mucho este es uno de mis lugares favoritos. Estas islas son mágicas y el clima húmedo es perfecto. Lo que más amo son todos los tonos de azul que puedes ver en las aguas cristalinas, les juro parece como si estuvieras en una película. Incluso vas a poder encontrar hoteles con restaurantes abajo del agua. Tienen que ir 100%.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. These islands are magical and the weather is perfect. The thing I love the most are the different shades of blue you can see in the water, I swear is just like in a movie. You will also find restaurants under water. You must go!

Bora Bora

Este lugar compite con las Maldivas por el primer puesto en mi top. Las vistas son impactantes. Una de las cosas más atractivas son son los bungalows construidos sobre el agua. Quiero volver a este paraíso sin duda.

This place is also on my top 5. The views are incredible. Some of the most attractive things are the bungalows built over the water. I wish to go back to this paradise no doubt about it.

Nueva York

Para no irnos tan lejos haha, a solo pocas horas se encuentra la ciudad de Nueva York. Esta ciudad tan grande y tan cambiante siempre me sorprende cada vez que voy. Parece infinita que nunca terminas de conocerla. No sé si lo que más amo es la moda, los hot spots que puedes conocer, los lugarcitos para tomar café o la cultura de Sex and the City.

Even closer to us you will find New York City. This city is so big and is constantly changing it never ceases to surprise me. I don’t know if what I love the most here is the fashion aspect of it, the hot spots where you can eat and drink coffee or the Sex and the City culture.

San Miguel de Allende

Por supuesto que en este top debe de haber por lo menos un lugar de mi amado México, y aunque tengo varios favoritos, decidí incluir San Miguel porque últimamente se ha convertido en uno de mis lugares preferidos para comer rico, tomar fotitos y pasar el fin de semana con mis amigos. Hay mucho lugares que puedes visitar y pasar un par de días inolvidables.

Of course, there must be at least one place within my beloved Mexico, and though I have several favorites, I decided to include San Miguel because lately it has become one of my favorite places to eat delicious food, take pics and spend the weekend with my friends.

Los Ángeles

Amo Los Ángeles porque el clima es perfecto, hay muchísimos lugares para comer delicioso (por ejemplo, acai bowls o sushi) y es como mi segunda casa.

I love LA because the weather is perfect, there are so many delicious places to eat, and it’s like my second home.

Tulum

Es que no saben lo fan que soy de la playa haha. Tulum es el perfecto paraíso mexicano en las costas de Quintana Roo. Además de que sus aguas son hermosas, también puedes encontrar otros lugares para turistear, por ejemplo las ruinas mayas y cenotes. Es uno de los 111 pueblos mágicos de México.

You have no idea how much I love the beach haha. Tulum is the perfect Mexican paradise in Quintana Roo. The water is blue and beautiful, but also you can find other places to visit, such as the ruins and cenotes. It is one of the 111 “Pueblos Mágicos” of Mexico.

Paris

Por otro lado, París siempre está lleno de moda, la ciudad es hermosa, a donde sea que volteas todo es como una postal y además, se respira romanticismo en el aire.

On the other hand, Paris is always full of fashion, the city is so pretty and you can feel romance in the air.

Los Cabos

Otra parte hermosa de mi México que me encanta está en Baja California Sur. Mi favorito es Cabo San Lucas, pero San José del Cabo es igual de hermoso y están unidos por un corredor turístico de más de 32 kilómetros. Tienes que visitar el Arco que está formado por rocas de manera natural y es donde se unen el mar de Cortés y el Océano Pacífico. A este punto se le conoce como “El fin de la tierra”.

Another beautiful place that I love of my Mexico is Baja California. My favorite is Cabo San Lucas, but San José del Cabo is equally beautiful and they are connected by a touristic passage of more than 32 kilometers. You have to visit the Arco which is formed naturally bye rocks and is where the Cortes Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet. This is known as “The end of the earth”.

Winter white steps

¡Hola, mis amores! Espero que estén tendiendo un buen domingo. Hoy les escribo porque como han visto últimamente, ¡las botas y botines blancos están de regreso! Estuvieron muy de moda en los años 60’s y se usaban casi siempre con minifaldas. Este año volvieron, y quiero darles ideas de cómo usarlos para que se atrevan a sumarse a esta trend.

Hello, my loves! I hope you are having a great Sunday. Today I’m writing to you because, as you all have seen lately, white boots are back! They were a trend back in the 60’s and the most popular way to pair them up used to be with minis. This year they are back, so I want to give you a few ides for outfits to wear them like a pro!

Basic Denim

Si piensas que combinar unas botas blancas puede ser difícil, hazlo con demin. Este look también lo puedes personalizar usando shorts, todo depende del clima y la ciudad en la que te encuentres.

If you don’t know how to pair white boots, always think about denim first. You may mix it up by wearing shorts, this will depend on the weather.

All white

Esta combinación me encanta porque puede ayudarte a convertir tu look en uno formal o casual dependiendo del resto de los accesorios. Busca prendas en blancas y no tengas miedo de llevar algún estampado.

I love this look because you could go formal or casual depending on the accessories you add to your look. Wear white and don’t be afraid of matching it with different prints.

Little printed dress

Para aprovechar los últimos días de calor y las tardes medio lluviosas, prueba un vestido estampado con tus botas blancas. Afortunadamente el blanco es un color muy versátil que puede ir muy bien con otros colores.

To take advantage of the last sunny days and rain, try wearing a little printed dress with your white boots. Fortunately, white is so versatile and it looks good with many other colors.

Jumpsuits y two pieces

Si tienes un jumpsuit o un traje de dos piezas de colores brillantes o con un estampado súper llamativo, no te compliques y dile SÍ a las botas blancas. Les juro que son comodísimas y se pueden llevar a todos lados haha.

You can wear a jumpsuit or a two piece outfit that's colorful or even printed and then add your white boots. I swear they are very comfy and you could wear them everywhere. LOL.

White + white

Por último, busca otros accesorios del mismo tono blanco para complementar tu look. Yo aquí usé este vestido de corte asimétrico con las botas y una riñonera. ¡Son súper prácticas y mega cómodas!

Last but not least, wear them with other accessories of the same color. In this pic, I am wearing this dress with my white boots and a fanny pack. They are very practical and comfortable!

¡Hola, mis amores! Hace poco terminó Fashion Week y les escribí un post en el que les conté cuáles fueron mis pasarelas favoritas en París y los elementos que me encantaron de cada una. Ahora, les quiero platicarles sobre las tendencias de Primavera-Verano que estaremos viendo por todos lados en 2019.

Hello my loves! Recently I went to NYFW and then to PFW. In this post (clic here) I talk about my favorite runways and the elements I loved about each one. Now, I want to talk about the Spring-Summer trends that we’ll be seeing everywhere in 2019.

SHADES OF BEIGE

Una de las tendencias más fuertes son los outfits monocromáticos en color beige. El tono de beige puede ir desde un nude muy clarito hasta llegar a los tonos cafés. Recuerda que la clave es llevar el look completo del mismo color.

One of the strongest trends are the monochromatic looks in beige color. The shade of the beige may be from a very clear nude to a brown. Remember that the key is to wear the complete look of the same color.

MIX AND MATCH

Imagínate un vestido hecho de varios vestidos. Esta tendencia combina colores, texturas y formas para lograr armonía. Además, esta temporada podrás combinar prints porque… ¡no hay reglas!

Imagine a dress made by many dresses. This trend combines colors, textures and shapes to live in harmony. Also, this season you may wear different prints in different clothes. There are no rules!

ART INFUSED PRINTS

Otra tendencia que AMO de la próxima temporada es lo que parece hecho a mano. Las prendas con pinta artesanal serán básicas en tu clóset.

Another strong trend of next season is whatever seem to be handmade. These garments will be basic.

TROPICAL VIBES!

¡Esta es una de mis tendencias favoritas! Las prendas ligeras con estampados de playa, palmeras o flores, de colores llamativos y brillantes, estarán en todos lados.

This is one of my favorites! The light garments with beach prints such as palms and flowers will be everywhere, also bright colors.

FEATHER MOOD

No te sorprendas si empiezas a ver prendas con flecos por todos lados o en zonas específicas como las mangas, el cuello o la parte final de la falda o vestido. Podrás sentirlo un poco extravagante pero muy romántico al mismo tiempo.

Don’t be surprised if you start to see items with feathers and fringes everywhere or in specific areas such as necks or the end of a skirt. You may feel it a bit extravagant but also romantic as the same time.

Mis lugares favoritos para comer en CDMX, NY y LA

¡Hola mis amores! Saben que amo, amo, amo la comida y me encanta siempre estar probando lugarcitos nuevos donde se pueda comer delicioso. Hace pocos días decidí abrir una cuenta de Instagram solo de comida @pamallierfoodie para enseñarles todo lo que me encanta y los lugares que amo visitar cada que viajo.  

Por eso, les hice hoy una lista de mis spots favoritos de diferentes ciudades porque todo el tiempo me están preguntando de dónde son esas delicias de mis fotos jaja.

Today I made you a list of my favorite spots in different cities because you are always asking me about the food that I post.

En México

Contramar: Este lugar lo encuentras en la colonia Roma Norte. Es especializado en pescados y mariscos. ¡Es delicioso y siempre la comida es súper fresca! Hay tacos, tostadas, sopas o pescado a la talla. Además: ¡los postres son delicioso! Jajaja.

In Mexico:

Contramar: This place is located in colonia Roma. It mainly offers fish and seafood. It is delicious and the food is always fresh. You can find tacos, tostadas, soups and fish dishes. Also, the desserts are delicious. LOL

Kura: Me encanta la comida japonesa y en Kira hay muchísima variedad y el sazón es delicioso. También lo encuentras en la colonia Roma Norte. Si tienes ganas de comer rico saliendo del trabajo, este es el lugar.

Kura: I love japanese food. It is also found in colonia Roma. If you get out from work and you want to have some dinner, this is the place to go.

Colima 378 Local A, Roma Nte., CDMX 

Rosseta: En la calle Colima se encuentra este lugarcito que tiene comida italiana combinada con mexicana. Hay variedad de pescados, carnes, aves y más. Y no olvides probar el pan, que es hecho en los hornos del mismo restaurante y es delicioso. Otro tip: No olvides pedir postre y el café también es súper rico.

Rosseta: In Colima Street there is a place that serves italo-mexican food. You can order fish, meat, and more. Don’t forget to try the bread, baked to order. Tip: Dessert and coffee are great.

Lalo: ¿Se nota que me encanta la Roma para ir a comer? El mejor lugar para comer brunch. Si quieres ir solo, hay una mesa común donde puedes desayunar acompañado de más personas. Aquí encuentras chilaquiles, huevo poché y muchos platillos deliciosos con flor de calabaza, nuez macadamia y puré de higo. ¡Ufff! ¡Se me antojó!

Lalo: Can you tell I love Colonia Roma? This is the best place to have brunch. You can go by yourself and sit in the common table to eat with other singles. Here you find chilaquiles, eggs and many other delicious creations. Yum! I want some!

Ikigai: Este restaurante no está en la Roma, está en Lomas de Chapultepec y sirve comida japonesa. Te recomiendo los nigiri y no te vayas sin probar los chawanmushi, un plato típico de Japón.

Ikigai: This restaurant is in Lomas de Chapultepec and here you can find Japanese food. You should ask for the nigiris and the chawanmushi.

Backyard Bowls: Les he subido mil fotos de este lugar porque tienen unos acai bowls y smoothies deliciosos y súper saludables. Hay opciones orgánicas, ligeras y más.

Jon and Vinny’s: Localizado en Fairfax Ave y es ideal para ir a cenar. La comida es deliciosa… hay pastas, pizza y helado. Jaja, ¡podría vivir aquí! No olvides reservar porque siempre hay mucha gente.

Gjusta Bakery: Localizado en Venice, encontrarás hotcakes, ensaladas y sándwiches. Es perfecto para ir a desayunar. Ordena el salmón. ¡Me encanta!

Gjusta Bakery: Located in Venice, you will find pancakes, salads and sándwiches. It is perfect for breakfast time. Try the salmon.

Izakaya by Katsuya: Esta comida japonesa es súper rica y el ambiente te transporta a un lugar originario verdaderamente de Japón. Es rápido, bueno y con excelente servicio. Si tienes dudas pide pimientos, carpaccio de tuna y salmón, camarones tempura y algunos rollos. ¡Uffff, deli!

Izakaya by katsuya: This Japanese restaurant will take you directly to Japan. It has quick sevice and very good. You should have the tuna carpaccio and tempura shrimp.

Bestia: Este restaurante italiano es uno de mis favoritos de la ciudad porque encuentras pasta y pizza con un ambiente súper familiar. Además, el servicio es excelente.

Bestia: This italian restaurat is one of my favs in the city because it is very family oriented. Also, the service is excellent.

En NY

Sant Ambroeus: ¡Nueva York es de mis ciudades favoritas y hay restaurantes excelentes. El Sant Ambroeus es originario de Milán y es perfecto para desayunar. Aquí encuentras mi cappuccino favorito de todo NY.

Sant Ambroeus: New York is one of my favorite cities and there are many good restaurants there. Sant Ambroeus is perfect for breakfast time. Try the Cappuccino Viennese.

Two Hands: Si quieres algo más saludable, aquí puedes encontrar tostadas de aguacate con huevo que se ven para Instagram. Si te quedas con hambre pide una taza de acai.

Two Hands: If you want something healthier you can find here avocado toast with eggs that looks awesome. If you are still hungry, try acai.

Sadelle’s: Es un loft localizado en Soho. En la mañana puedes desayunar con pan recién horneado y en las noches se convierte en un restaurante exquisito.

Sadelle’s: This is a small loft located in Soho. You can have breakfast with freshly baked bread and at night it turns into a fancy restaurant.

Runway Report: Paris Fashion Week

¡Feliz domingo, mis amores! Les escribo este recap desde NYC en el que les platico sobre mis pasarelas favoritas vistas en París. Espero que les sirva de guía para descubrir qué vamos a usar en Primavera-Verano 2019.

Happy Sunday, my loves! I’m writing this recap from NYC in which I talk about my favorite catwalks that last showed in Paris Fashion Week. I hope you find this list useful and as a guide to discover what we’re going to wear in Spring-Summer 2019.

DIOR

¡Esta es mi pasarela favorita! Amé que Maria Grazia Chiuri se inspirara en el baile como acto liberador que utiliza el ritmo, el movimiento y la música. Me encantaron los estampados florales abstractos y artesanales tie-dye, las chamarras de mezclilla inspiradas en los sonidos del hip hop, los trajes de color, además de las bolsas.

This was my favorite runway! I loved that Maria Grazia Chiuri took inspiration in dance as a liberating act that uses rhythm, movement and music to connect with our deepest self. I really liked the abstract floral and handmade tie-dye prints, the denim jackets inspired by the sounds of hip hop and the colored suits.

GUCCI

Amé ir a esta pasarela con la que Alessandro Michele sigue demostrando que cada temporada revoluciona a la marca. Flecos, plumas, plisados, estampados bohemios y telas llenas con el monograma de la firma, estuvieron presentes en toda la colección.

I loved going to this catwalk in which Alessandro Michele continued to show how he reinvents the brand for each season. Fringes, feathers, pleats, bohemian prints and fabrics filled with the signature monogram were the main elements in the collection.

BALMAIN

Me fascinó ver a Cara Delevingne en esta pasarela con la que Olivier Rousteing hizo un homenaje a su infancia y al poder de la mujer con botas por encima de la rodilla y vestidos ajustados.

I loved seeing Cara Delevingne on this catwalk where Olivier Rousteing paid tribute to his childhood and girl power with thigh high boots and tight dresses.

CELINE

Heidi Slimane regresa después de dos años de ausencia para presentar una colección en la que apostó por el negro y el rock and roll. Lo que más me gustó fueron las chamarras de piel negras y las botas mezcladas con mini vestidos de fiesta.

Heidi Slimane returns after two years of absence to present a collection in which she opted for black and rock and roll vibes. What I liked the most were the black leather jackets and the boots paired with mini party dresses.

SAINT LAURENT

La vibra de las estrellas de rock de la década de los 80 predominó en la nueva propuesta de Anthony Vaccarello. Desde chamarras con bandas de terciopelo hasta shorts cortos de piel o vestidos negros y con estampado de leopardo, cada prenda y accesorio es ideal para usarse en un día de fiesta.

Paris Fashion Week: Dior 'Printemps-Eté 2019'

¡Hola, mis amores! Les escribo desde París como se los prometí para contarles todo sobre la colección Spring-Summer 2019 de Christian Dior. Como les platiqué mientras volaba de México para acá, viajé a esta ciudad para ir a este desfile así que en cuanto llegué, lo primero que hice –después de desayunar obviamente jaja– fue arreglarme para ir a la pasarela. ¡Es difícil poner en palabras lo emocionada que estaba!

Hi, my loves! I'm in Paris writing to tell you all about the new Dior collection as I promised yesterday. As I told you before, I traveled specially to go to this show so when I arrived, the first thing I did after having breakfast obviously haha was to get ready to go to this event. It's hard to put into words how excited I was!

La invitación decía hippodrome of Paris y por eso pensé que esta nueva propuesta iba a ser una “continuación” de Dior Resort, pero lo que vi fue algo completamente distinto. Llegando Hippodrome de Longchamp, me impresionó el espacio oscuro que la firma hizo especialmente para la ocasión con luces que enfatizaron el elemento principal que sirvió como inspiración para crear esta colección: la danza.

The invitation to the Spring 2019 show for Christian Dior read “hippodrome of Paris.” This might have been a hint for the new version of the Dior Resort collection, but it turned out to be something completely different. The moment I arrived to Hippodrome de Longchamp, I was impressed by the theatrical darkness that emphasized the heart and inspiration of this collection: dance.

La experiencia empezó con ocho bailarines que protagonizaron una obra de danza conceptual, coreografiada por la israelí Sharon Eyal.

Mientras los bailarines se movían, las modelos caminaban usando prendas de tul y seda con formas vaporosas o translúcidas que reflejaban esa libertad de movimiento.

Me encantaron los estampados florales abstractos y artesanales tie-dye, las chamarras de mezclilla inspiradas en los sonidos del hip hop, los trajes de color, además de las bolsas que son y siempre serán mi fascinación.

I loved the abstract floral and handmade tie-dye prints, the denim jackets inspired by the sounds of hip hop, the colored suits, in addition to the bags that are and always will be a weakness of mine.

Sí a los tonos neutros: Siempre trato de ordenar mi clóset por colores y texturas para poder encontrar más fácil y rápido las prendas o accesorios que estoy buscando. Antes me llamaban la atención los colores intensos pero aprendí que además de ellos, es importante tener básicos en tonos neutros porque mucho más versátiles y fáciles de combinar.

Neutral tones: I always try to order my clothes and accessories by colors and textures to be able to find them easier and faster for whatever I’m looking for in my closet. Lately I learned that it’s important to have basic neutral tones because they are much more versatile.

Mix & match: Creo que para formar outfits increíbles, una de las claves está en mezclar prendas fast fashion y accesorios de marca. Además de encontrar el equilibrio, siempre he estado convencida de que una buena bolsa o un par de zapatos atemporales, maximizan casi cualquier combinación.

Mix & match: To create incredible outfits all you have to do is mix fast fashion garments and brand accessories. In addition to finding balance, I have always been convinced that a good bag or a pair of timeless shoes, can make a look memorable.

High-waisted jeans, shorts, skirts & pants: Como ya saben, estoy enamorada de las piezas de cintura alta y son un elemento básico en mi clóset. Antes prefería los vestidos pero ahora amo alternar. El secreto está en combinarlos con piezas que tengan las proporciones correctas o hasta agregar un cinturón y una chamarra.

High-waisted jeans, shorts, skirts & pants: As you know, I'm in love with high-waisted pieces and they are a staple in my closet. I used to prefer dresses but now I love to alternate. The secret is to wear them with pieces that have the right proportions or even add a belt and a jacket.

Sí a los zapatos cómodos: Al principio casi no usaba tenis por miedo a verme desarreglada pero hoy me di cuenta de que son básicos para conocer lugares nuevos siempre que voy de viaje y que se pueden combinar con todo. No puedo vivir sin ellos. Siento que se ven bien con casi cualquier cosa… Otro tipo de zapatos que amo son las botas. Creo que son atemporales y perfectas para esos días en los que el clima cambia mucho.

Comfy shoes: At first I almost didn’t wear sneakers but today I realized that they are necessary if I want to walk around and getting to meet new places whenever I travel and that they go with everything. I can’t live without them.!I feel like they look good with almost anything ... Another type of shoes I love are boots. I think they are timeless and perfect for those days when the weather changes a lot.

Round sunglasses: Si hablamos de accesorios, siempre amaré los lentes de sol. Antes usaba de aviador pero ahora me gustan con forma redonda o alargados.

#NYFW: Mis desfiles favoritos

¡Hola, mis amores! Ya estamos como les he platicado antes, esta es una de mis épocas favoritas del año porque empiezan las nuevas ediciones de Fashion Week en las capitales de la moda: Nueva York, Londres, París y Milán.

Hi my loves! September is one of my favorite months because the newest editions of Fashion Week take place in the fashion capitals: New York, London, Paris and Milan.

Estos días estuve muy feliz en NYC, ciudad que es una de mis favoritas porque grandes opciones de comida (les comparto mi post con los mejores postres en NYC) y tiene una vibra muy cool. Viajé a este lugar para ir a algunos desfiles y hoy les quiero platicar cuáles fueron mis favoritos.

These days I was very happy in NYC, a city that is one of my favorites because it has a very cool vibe. I traveled to this place to go to some fashion shows and today I want to tell you which were my favorites.

Michael Kors

Cuando pienso en este diseñador, automáticamente me pongo de buenas. Las telas, los colores y las texturas de cada una de sus colecciones son un mood booster. Su inspiración para crear esta colección fue la playa y el lugar del desfile –Pier 17 en Seaport– fue perfecto para presentar su propuesta llena de alegría y color. Los elementos destacados fueron las bolsas de lon, los abrigos de cachemir y los estampados usando el logo MK Beach Club. ¡La amé!

This designer is a mood enhancer. The fabrics, colors and textures of each of its collections are mood boosters. His inspiration to create the latest was the beach so he booked Pier 17 on the Seaport to set the tone. The highlights of the collection were canvas totes and cashmere beach-towel wraps stamped with the logo MK Beach Club. I loved it!

Tory Burch

Si existe un tema en común que pude encontrar en la mayoría de las colecciones vistas en #NYFW es viajar. Los viajes sirven son la base de la inspiración de los diseñadores y Tory Burch tomó un viaje en crucero hecho por sus papás hace años. Italia, Grecia, Marruecos y España fueron la base para crear una propuesta que es casual pero está perfectamente confeccionada y detallada.

Wanderlust was a theme in common that I found in #NYFW. Designers, Tory Burch included, take traveling as inspiration to create new clothes and accessories. The designer was inspired by a cruise trip made by her parents years ago. Italy, Greece, Morocco and Spain were the start points to create a collection that was comfortable and chic.

Milly

‘Metamorfosis’ me gustó mucho porque creo que es muy diferente a todas las anteriores. Siluetas definidas y colores llamativos, acompañaron la vibra deportiva que destacó en casi todas las prendas.

I loved 'Metamorphosis' because I think it's very different from all the previous collections of this fashion brand. Defined silhouettes and striking colors accompanied the sporting vibe that stood out.

Carolina Herrera

Me fascina que la mejor lección que Wes Gordon aprendió de Carolina Herrera es que "La gente feliz hace ropa feliz". Tiene muchísima razón y su primera colección para la marca lo refleja. AMÉ todos los vestidos y los estampados florales. ¡Me encantaría usarlos todos!

¡Hola, mis amores! Viajé a Nueva York para vivir una vez más todo lo que pasa en Fashion Week y estoy disfrutando muchísimo cada minuto aquí. You already know my love for bowls and today I want to tell you that recently I talked with Mora Mora a place that makes some of my favorite açai bowls in Mexico and a pioneer brand in clean eating that has several detox programs to facilitate the purification and elimination of toxins that our body accumulates. I love that they work every day to promote the Clean Life lifestyle that literally is based on eating really pure things and doing activities that help us find physical, mental and environmental balance. To tell you more about this topic, I asked them to give me the steps I should follow to lead a healthy lifestyle, I've summarized them in some tips that I feel are very useful. Keep reading!

Muchas personas empiezan a hacer ejercicio para cuidar o bajar de peso y después se van dando cuenta de todos sus beneficios. Yo lo hago para mantenerme sana a largo plazo y porque me hace sentir muy feliz. Igual que Mora Mora, estoy convencida de que el ejercicio es  la fuente de energía para que el día de mañana podamos seguir saludables.

After balancing a good diet and taking care of our body, it's important to care about the environment. Let's be aware that the planet also needs us and that we can do small things that make a huge difference like trying to eat less animal products, not using straws, trying to use the car less or separating the garbage and recycling.

¡Feliz lunes, mis amores! Hoy les quiero contar que hay muchas mujeres cerca de mí que definitivamente me motivan todos los días. Inspirándome en ellas estas increíbles mujeres con las que he tenido la oportunidad de convivir y hasta trabajar, decidí hacerles este post con esos hábitos que encuentro en común entre ellas y que ya forman parte de mi día a día. ¡Espero que les sirvan!

Happy Monday, my loves! There are many women near me who are definitely my role models. Inspired by their incredible personalities, I decided to write this post with the theme in mind of those habits that I find in common among them and that are already part of my everyday living. I hope you find them useful!

Listas + listas + listas

Hoy por hoy el mundo nos exige cumplir con muchas cosas al mismo tiempo y por eso a veces podemos tener tanto que hacer, que hasta se nos pueden llegar a olvidar cosas. Yo amo hacer mis notas en el celular pero también tengo una amiga que hace sus listas y divide sus pendientes usando una libreta y pluma (a la antigüita jaja). Para no perder el orden lo primero que hago es escribir dos listas separadas. La primera con todas las cosas que necesito hacer al final del día y la segunda con todo lo que necesito lograr en la semana. Puede sonar medio exagerado pero a veces vuelvo a escribirlas hasta tres veces en un mismo día para saber qué tiene prioridad y qué es lo que ya hice. 

Make check lists
 

Today, the world demands that we do many things at the same time and that's why it’s important to maintain some sort of order in your work life. I love writing notes on my phone but I also have a friend who makes her lists and divides her tasks using a notebook and pen. I always write two separate lists. The first one with all the things I need to do at the end of the day and the second with everything I need to accomplish in the week. It may sound weird but sometimes I write them again three times in a single day to find out what I need to prioritize. 

Buena comunicación

No importa a qué se dediquen o qué estudiaron, en un momento u otro de sus vidas tendrán que dar retroalimentación o comunicar alguna mala noticia. De las mujeres exitosas que están a mi alrededor aprendí que es básico empezar este tipo de conversaciones difíciles diciendo algo bueno (honestamente) para luego dar puntos de vista y transmitir comentarios constructivos. Lo ideal también es acabar la conversación con algo positivo para crear y mantener relaciones positivas y de confianza.

Good communication

Someday you'll have to to give feedback or communicate some bad news. From the successful women around me I learned that it's essential to start this kind of difficult conversations by saying something good (honestly) and then give points of view and convey constructive comments to create and maintain a positive and trusting relationship. 

Sí importan las formas y el momento

Desde chiquita aprendí que lo más importante es dar las gracias y pedir las cosas por favor. Por eso, sin importar la situación creo que es clave ser amable, considerado y empático.

Timing and manners matter

Since I was a little girl I learned that the most important thing is to say thank you and ask for things politely. I think it's essential to be kind, considerate and empathic.

Hay que trabajar para conseguir lo que queremos

Todas estas mujeres de las que les platico son súper proactivas y perseverantes. Estas dos características las han llevado a lograr cosas irreales.

We must work to get what we want

All these women are proactive and perseverant. These two characteristics have led them to achieve great things.

La importancia del ejercicio

Les he platicado mil veces lo mucho que amo hacer ejercicio porque me ayuda a sentirme bien física y mentalmente. Normalmente inicio el día corriendo o con alguna clase y si de plano no tengo tiempo para hacerlo, busco caminar el aeropuerto o hasta caminar desde mi casa por un café. Les tengo que confesar que mis mejores ideas salen en esos paseos jaja.

Exercise!

I've talked a thousand times about how much I love exercising because it helps me feel physically and mentally well. I usually start the day running or by taking a class and if I do not have the time to do it, I try to walk to the airport or even walk for miles to get a cup of coffee. I have to confess that my best ideas come out on those walks. 

Por último, pero no menos importante, sean positivos siempre, vístanse para conseguir el éxito y lo más importante, ¡nunca olviden dedicarse tiempo para ustedes! Les dejo una idea de outfit que siento que es ideal para empezar la semana.

Mis resoluciones de belleza

¡Hola, mis amores! Por fin llegó el fin de semana y después de unos días pesados, estoy feliz de que sea viernes. Pensando en lo importante que es tener una rutina de belleza, decidí escribirles este post en el que les cuento cuáles son mis hábitos y resoluciones que me repito casi diario (para que no se me olviden jaja). Pase lo que pase, si las van a sumar a su rutina no se salten ninguna, sean constantes y verán resultados.

Hi my loves! The weekend is finally here and after a few busy days, I'm happy that it's Friday. I think that it's very important to have a beauty routine and that's why I decided to write this post in which I'll tell you what my habits and resolutions are that I repeat almost daily. If you add them to your daily routine don't skip any one of them, be constant and you will see results very soon.

Desmaquillarme antes de dormir

Aunque uses mucho o poquito maquillaje como yo, toda la contaminación que hay en el aire se acumula en la piel durante el día y es por eso que es básico limpiarla con productos de belleza especiales y algodones. Además, no sé si sí sea cierto pero dicen por ahí que cada por cada día que no te desmaquillas envejeces cinco más... 

Removing makeup

Apart of foundation, blush and mascara, all the air pollution that we catch during the day sticks to your skin and that is why it's essential to clean it with special beauty products and cottons. I'm not sure if it's true but they say that for every day that you don't remove makeup, you age five days...

Usar bloqueador diario 

Tengo que confesarles que hace poco apenas entendí lo importante que es el bloqueador con más de 25 SPF añadido para evitar las manchas del sol y los melanomas. La verdad es que hoy por hoy es súper fácil usarlo varias veces al día por las miles de presentaciones y texturas en las que lo pueden encontrar. 

Wearing sunscreen

I have to confess that recently I understood the importance of wearing sunscreen with more than 25 SPF added to avoid sun spots and melanomas. The truth is that today it's easy to wear it because there are  thousands of options to choose from.

Tomar agua

La forma más fácil de lograr que el pelo y la piel estén sanos es tomando más agua. Hacerlo ayuda a ayudar a que la piel conserve su elasticidad y a que el cuerpo elimine las toxinas. A todos nos cuesta tomar agua a veces. Existen algunas Apps o hasta poner una alarma en tu celular como recordatorio que te facilitarán y ayudarán a tomarte los dos litros recomendados al día. 

Hydrate!

The easiest way for you to achieve healthier, more healthy skin and hair is drinking water. It can help your skin retain its elasticity and flushes out toxins. There are some very handy Apps or even putting an alarm on your phone as a reminder that will help you drink more water.

Limpiar mis brochas

Aunque suena un poco complicado entre el estrés y la falta de tiempo, limpiar tus herramientas de belleza te va a ayudar muchísimo a mantener la piel intacta. Aunque no se vea, cada brocha tiene restos de producto, aceite y muchísimas bacterias. Les recomiendo comprar un líquido especial para hacerlo o lavarlas con agua tibia y jabón hipoalergénico. 

Cleaning my makeup brushes regularly.

Although it sounds a little complicated between stress and lack of time, cleaning your beauty tools will help you a lot to keep the skin intact. Although you can't see it, each brush has traces of product, oil and bacteria. Try buying a special liquid to do it or cleaning them with warm water and hypoallergenic soap.

Dormir bien

¿Les ha pasado que están tan cansados que no quieren saber nada del mundo? Bueno, pues todo cambia al día siguiente cuando nos despertamos después de haber dormido 6 horas o más. Además, cuando estamos descansados, somos más creativos y más felices. ¡Comprobado! 

Good sleep

Have you ever felt so tired that you don't want to know anything about the world? Well, everything changes the next day when we wake up after having slept 6 hours or more. Also, when we are well rested, we tend to be more creative and happier.

Hacer ejercicio

Nunca me cansaré de decírselos. ¡Amo hacer ejercicio! Más que los beneficios físicos, me fascina lo bien que me siento después de una sesión en un fitness studio, después de correr o hasta de boxear. Me divierte tanto que no me cuesta nada de trabajo hacerlo hasta en fin de semana. 

I love exercise! More than the physical benefits, I love how I feel after a good workout session, after running or even boxing. I enjoy it so much that I do it even on the weekends.

Rainy days must-haves

¡Hola, mis amores! Como ya les he platicado antes, vivo en México y en Los Ángeles. Esto significa estar preparada para los días en los que amanece nublado, hace calor y llueve a medio día o en la tarde. Como sé que ustedes también pasan por lo mismo, les escribí este post con algunas ideas básicas que les ayudarán a sobrevivir en los días estos días en los que el clima cambia drásticamente de una hora a otra. ¡Espero que les guste! 

Hi my loves! As I've told you before, I live in Mexico and in LA. This means being READY for the unpredictable weather. I wrote this post with some basic ideas that will help you survive these kind of days when the weather changes. Hope you like it!

Layers

El primero de los secretos que he aprendido para transformar mi look según la temperatura es vestirme en capas. Te recomiendo empezar con una t-shirt, una hoodie y unos jeans. Si sientes que te va a dar frío, agrega una chamarrita ligera. Podrás ir sumando o quitando capas según lo necesites. 

The first thing I 've learned is to create my look according to the weather and  to dress up in layers. Start with a t-shirt, a hoodie and jeans. If you feel that you'll be cold, add a light jacket. You can add or remove layers as needed!

The raincoat

Esta prenda es perfecta porque es súper ligera y puedes usarla sobre una chamarra o suéter. Si quieres darle un plus a tu outfit, te recomiendo elegir uno en tonos neutros, en polipiel o en colores pastel.

Raincoats are light to carry around and you can use it over a jacket or sweater. Try them in neutral  or pastel tones.

Cropped denim

Es el corte ideal para mantener tus pantalones secos jajaja. 

It's the best way to keep your pants dry hahaha.

Appropriate footwear

Desde unas botas, hasta sneakers, este accesorio es clave. Te recomiendo usar siempre que puedas calcetines. ¡La prioridad es mantener los pies secos!

From boots to sneakers, these kind of shoes allow you to wear socks and keep cozy and dry feet.

An umbrella

Es práctico porque puedes llevarlo bolsa. El tamaño perfecto es el que puedas guardar en espacios pequeños. 

It's practical because you can carry it in your bag! Buy an umbrella that you can keep in a drawer or in your closet.

Me gusta mucho que la feria se enfoca en el maquillaje, el cuidado de la piel, los perfumes y en el pelo. Para mí, estos son los principales aspectos de la belleza. Se me hace súper cool que tengan makeup artists especializados hablando sobre las últimas tendencias y enseñándole a la gente cómo maquillarse para verse mejor. Lo mejor de todo es que puede probar productos como mascarillas o jugar con diferentes fragancias. ¡Hoy es el último día!

This fair focuses on makeup, skin care, perfumes and hair. For me, these are the most important aspects of beauty. ¡Feliz jueves, mis amores! Les escribo este post después de haber ido por mi cafecito y de caminar por Melrose Place en Los Ángeles. De lo que más me gusta de esta ciudad es el amor de las mujeres por la moda y las nuevas tendencias, que es casi tan grande como el que tenemos las mexicanas. Hay varias piezas que diario me encuentro en los looks de streetstyle que veo en diferentes partes de la ciudad e inspirándome en ellas, decidí hacerles esta lista. Happy Thursday, my loves! I'm writing this post after having my morning coffee and taking a walk through Melrose Place in Los Angeles. What I like most about this city is the love that women have for fashion and new trends, which is almost as big as the one we Mexicans have for both. I have found some key pieces in street style that I've discovered all over town and have been inspired by them, so I decided to write them into a list. So now you'll know how to use them if what you want is an LA style outfit.

Si vives o estás de vacaciones en LA, es prácticamente un requisito indispensable tener un vestido llamativo. Desde uno con estampado floral, un vestido midi wrap o uno con escote corazón, son ideales para el clima que casi siempre es soleado.  

If you live or are on vacay in L.A., it's practically a prerequisite to own a statement dress. From a floral-print dress to a midi wrap dress or one with a sweetheart neckline, they are all perfect for the sunny weather here.

Siempre amaré y usaré mis tenis blancos pero los botines se ven todo el año en este lugar y más en otoño. 

I will always love and wear my white sneakers but ankle boots are seen all year round in this place and even more in the fall.
