Paris Fashion Week Recap! 🇫🇷🥐

¡Hola, mis amores! Les cuento que ayer fui al último desfile de esta temporada en Paris Fashion Week. Aunque me da nostalgia dejar esta ciudad que amo, también me emociona regresar a casa. Les escribí una reseñita sobre las pasarelas a las que fui para contarles más sobre las nuevas colecciones, detalles y los looks que usé en estos días. Au revoir Paris!

Hi my loves! Yesterday I went to the last runway of this season at Paris Fashion Week. Although I feel nostalgic about leaving this city that I love, I’m also excited to return home. I wrote this review about the fashion shows I went to, and also about the new collections, details and looks I worn these days. Au revoir Paris!

Dior

Maria Grazia Chiuri tomó su diario de adolescente como fuente de inspiración para crear esta colección. Como directora creativa la marca, ha promovido constantemente las ideologías feministas. Creo que es muy interesante ver cómo cada temporada, la firma usa el alcance de sus desfiles en pro de las mujeres. Amé absolutamente todo lo que la maison propone para otoño-invierno: desde los cuadros en un conjunto diseñado por Marc Bohan, las faldas plisadas y hasta la serie de vestidos de diferentes longitudes con diferentes estampados como puntos o aplicaciones como flecos.

Maria Grazia Chiuri took her teenage diary as a source of inspiration to create the Dior fall-winter 2020-2021 ready-to-wear collection. As the creative director of Christian Dior, a role she has held since 2016, Chiuri has consistently promoted feminist ideologies. I think that it’s really interesting to see how each season, the brand uses this reach to enforce women’s rights. I loved absolutely everything: from the checks on an ensemble designed by Marc Bohan to the pleated skirts and even the series of dresses of different lengths with different prints as dots or fringes.

Loewe

La filosofía de Jonathan Anderson sobre la situación de la moda femenina este año gira en torno a siempre tratar de crear cosas nuevas. Con esta colección el diseñador busca regresar la emoción por vestirnos al presentar nuevos tipos de siluetas. Jumpsuits, vestidos drapeados, abrigos XXL y trajes o vestidos con corsés en la cintura, fueron algunas de las prendas que destacaron durante el desfile.

Jonathan Anderson's philosophy about the situation of women's fashion this year revolves around always trying to create new things. With this collection, the designer seeks to return the emotion of dressing well by presenting new types of silhouettes. Jumpsuits, draped dresses, XXL coats and suits and dresses with corsets at the waist, were some of the garments that stood out during the show.

Chanel

Viard se inspiró en una fotografía del kaiser de la moda en el la que también aparece la que alguna vez fue una de sus musas: Anna Piaggi. La imagen fue tomada a finales de los 80’s y Lagerfeld lleva una chamarra a rayas, además de una corbata de seda negra, pantalones y botas de montar. Estas últimas estuvieron presentes en toda la colección compuesta por 72 looks. Entre las piezas que destacaron están los suéteres de punto grueso, shorts de terciopelo, faldas de tul y las creadas usando tweed. No solamente Karl era fan de los caballos y del polo. Aparentemente esta era otra de las pasiones de Gabrielle.

Viard took her inspiration from a turn-of-the-1980s photograph of Karl Lagerfeld and his muse Anna Piaggi. The image was taken in the late 80’s where Lagerfeld wears a striped jacket, plus a black silk tie, pants and riding boots. They later were present in the 72-look collection. Among the pieces that stood out are thick knit sweaters, velvet shorts, tulle skirts and those created using tweed. Not only Karl was a fan of horses and polo. Apparently this was another of Gabrielle's passions.

Lacoste

Amé que las modelos salieron de una cancha de tenis. Louise Trotter presentó la colección de la firma en el complejo de tenis Roland-Garros de París. Aunque Lacoste es más que una marca de tenis, su origen radica en este deporte y también su esencia. Polos de manga corta en diferentes colores, semi piel, vestidos de polo largo con cuello y siluetas simples, fueron los ganadores conjuntos de la que es una de mis propuestas favoritas de la siguiente temporada.

I loved that the models came out of a tennis court. Louise Trotter presented the firm's collection at the Roland-Garros tennis complex in Paris. Although Lacoste is more than a tennis brand, its origin lies in this sport and also its essence. Short-sleeved polo shirts in different colors, semi leather, long-sleeved polo shirts and simple silhouettes, were the joint winners of which is one of my favorite proposals of the following season.
