Color Blocks...

Pamela Allier

Hello my loves... are you ready for the upcoming week? I'm thrilled to be with you guys today, but you know me, today I'm all about WTH, my weekend lasted like five minutes I swear, haha. Well, today's post is another of the pre-fall series and and introduction of what we're seeing in racks for the upcoming months.

Fall is almost upon us and Color Blocks, or Monocrhomatic looks are in every rack of every shopping mall. From Zara to Chanel, Acne, Stella, H&M and almost every single brand have single color, wide and oversized in the seasons' palette. Green, khaki, gray, burgundy, and blue; pants, skirts and sweaters and even denim. Of course we see some patterns such as houndstooth and some fall florals, but I've been around many shopping malls (ask hubs, haha), and I'm telling you, color block trend is what you want to wear this season. Suede is back on track, and of course, we can all use now our booties that have been in our closet during these hotter days of summer.

You see, planning the pictures is very important in this blogging thing, and when I was window shopping and thinking about how to better show you guys the color-block trend, I couldn't imagine a place in Mexico City I could use. I told hubs about my idea, and he quickly proposed this place. This place was created by one of his favorite architects, Luis Barragan (and a friend of his), and it's called "The Satelite Towers". Blue, red, yellow and white, perfect for the color-block photo session.

Here comes my piece of advice: always adapt the trends to your personal style. I must confess that when I first tried this outfit, it also came with an oversize dress. I tried the whole outfit, but wide pants, and oversized sweater all in the same color, made me look as if I was half of my actual height. Matters of perspective, I know, but my point is that fashion and magazines always present trends that need to be adapted to our personal style and body configuration.

Well, that would be all for today, and I really hope these posts can give you ideas of what and how to wear the trends we're seeing on racks right now. I wish you a blessed week.

Kisses

Pam

Buen lunes queridos!!
