Mykonos... heaven of white backdrops

Happy Wednesday loves!! So I must confess I couldn't resist myself on posting more pictures of the Mykonos trip and this yellow outfit...

I guess you guys must have realized by now that backdrops for the pictures in this site are one of the most important things to have in mind... and Mykonos, just had the perfect landscapes, colors and alleys to play with. Everything is easier when you have beautiful places all around you.

As previous to my trip I had done some investigation on Mykonos colors, I must confess I looked for outfits that would be comfy, chic and of course, would look nice in the pictures, and when I saw this amazing Alexis blouse and skirt available at the amazing TFA Store I instantly fell in love with it. You know me, I love colors and colorful outfits, and yellow has always been one of my fave colors in life. It's happy, it's always smiling and it reminds me of the sun... cheesy I know, but that's me.

As a lot of walking was involved during our Mykonos trip, I went for these platform sandals. You must remember I had a really big and ugly blister from my last day of running in the Paris Fashion Week, so sandals where just perfect for the healing thing. They are tall, absolutely comfy, and they have been with me since I got married.

Well, sometime there's not much to say, as pictures often say more than a million words, so I hope you like these pictures and please, never hesitate to leave a comment... good or bad, I'm always thankful that you guys take time to be around.

Buen miércoles queridos!! Como siempre estoy feliz de estar aqui con ustedes.... Estos días han sido algo complicados para mi por algunos asuntos del trabajo, pero estar escribiéndoles y contándoles parte de mi vida es como una terapia para mi. No se si se los digo lo suficiente, pero estoy muy agradecida de su cariño y tiempo...

Hoy les voy a dejar algunas nuevas fotos del viaje a Mykonos. Tenemos más de 500, pero hacer una selección de 10 ó 15 siempre es un reto enorme. (ya saben que algunas mujeres no somos tan decididas, jaja). Este outfit fue sin duda uno de mis favoritos. Ya saben que me encanta el amarillo... y este conjunto de la marca Alexis que está disponible en la tienda TFA store combinó perfecto con los paisajes griegos, jaja. La combinación con lo blanco, el material perfecto para los días calurosos, y el largo de la blusa fueron los detalles que me encantaron de estas fotos. No es la primera vez que uso ropa de este diseñador, y la verdad es que siempre termino encantada. Con esto de que soy una romántica, ya saben que el encaje me encanta, y mucha de su línea incluye este material... entonces ya saben que si buscan algo de este estilo, seguramente algo ALEXIS les va a gustar.

Por cierto, respecto de los zapatos, para este viaje saqué unas sandalias con plataforma que no solamente son comodísimas para caminar, sino que además fueron perfectas para que mi ampolla de andar caminando/corriendo en París con zapatos nuevos sanara. Estas sandalias me han acompañado en varios de mis viajes y como son neutrales, las he usado en bodas, playa, ciudad.

Coach Fall Collection

Happy Tuesday loves!!! Yes, Fall is one of my favorite seasons...the colors, the leaves in the ground and the fabrics. Fall is for lovers I guess!

Well, as I mentioned before, I partnered with Coach as they launched their first ever complete runway collection. You can see the post about the runway during the last NYFW also in my blog, and during the last Paris Fashion Week I got the chance to use some of their clothes.

This dress, that was show worn during the runway it's amazing... it's a mix between a dress with a vest/blouse attached to it. The skirt has velvet on it (I mean, who doesn't love velvet...) and on the upper part has this kind of a cool vintage collage vest. Black, gray and white (you know I love that color palette) and you can make it an instant-all day piece or a night-piece if you add some layers (you know by know that layers are a magic solution, right?) Well, as Paris Fashion Week involves being out of the hotel room all day, I found this bag perfect for the job. Nano bags are in, but this is slightly bigger than nano, thus, I fits all my must-haves perfectly. The extra iphone battery, some make-up-fix-everything-goodies, my shades, my red/pink lipstick, some altoids and of course my presentation cards.

Soon on every store around the country and Mexico too, the whole collection is amazingly affordable too (which of the utmost importance if you know what I mean, haha). I'll say bye bye for now, but I wish you an amazing almost-Friday and a happy almost-weekend jaja.

Buen jueves queridos!!! Como siempre muy contenta de estar aquí con ustedes hoy.

Les cuento sobre este outfit... es de la nueva temporada de Coach que sacó recientemente cuando lanzó su nueva colección de ropa en el pasado Fashion Week de Nueva York. Ya ven que siempre les digo que en la moda debemos estar abiertos a nuevas cosas, ¿no? Este vestido a la cadera es algo nuevo para mí, y la verdad me encantó como me quedó. Con detalles en terciopelo (ad hoc para la temporada otoñal), pero todavía sin estar demasiado invernal, es perfecto para usarse tanto con zapatos de tacón si queremos un look más de vestir, o unos sneakers blancos si queremos un look menos formal. El cuello en V y los detalles en blanco de la parte superior me encantaron, y me recordaron esos suéteres en V que usaban los tenistas hace años... y que por cierto, siempre he querido comprar un suéter así y no he encontrado!

Sobre la bolsa es sencilla pero práctica. Un poco más grande que las nano (que honestamente no les cabe casi nada...) en esta me cupo todo lo necesario para el día incluyendo la camarita para las fotos (ya saben que es parte fundamental de mi vida). Me encanta usarla cruzada y este modelo se ha vuelto de mis favoritos.

Próximamente el vestido y la bolsa estará en las tiendas y la verdad están a un super precio... no dejen de darse una vuelta a su tienda Coach para ver todo lo nuevo que tienen en la temporada.

Something Borrowed

September means two things to me: first and most important, the month I got married two years ago, and second, Fashion Week in New York and Paris.  

Being married to the boy of my dreams and attending fashion shows in these cities are both dreams come true, and believe or not, I still get nervous about both. Nervous in a good way, in a sexy way,  in a way that makes me smile in the heart too. It's a big coincidence I know, but September is also Tiffany's Bridal Month, and we celebrate with them remembering that old bridal tradition of wearing to our wedding something old, and something new, something borrowed and something blue. Often used as lucky charms, these four items would be with the bride during one of the most important days of her life, and believe me, my wedding way certainly was!

Since a little girl, I’ve always had nightmares, and now that I share a bed with my boy, it helps me sleep better. Cheesy, I know, but that´s my story and believe or not, I always try to use something borrowed on each of my daily outfits. Sometimes its his watch, sometimes a t-shirt, and sometimes his wallet. It makes me feel closer to him. They say opposites attract, and my hubby is as simple as blue jeans, gray t-shirt and clean shoes, and I must confess that I absolutely love his gray t-shirts. Sometimes I sleep with them, sometimes I make them part of my outfit, and the thing about using his clothes is that I feel hubs is hugging me all day… that’s love, that’s something borrowed: wearing his scent all day long, feeling him all day long… and I’m not afraid to tell anyone: in New York Fashion Week, I use something borrowed from hubs: his gray t-shirt.

So, for me, something borrowed this time was my hubs gray t-shirt... washed a million times and with several little holes, I just love the feeling of having something borrowed from him (well... I hope he doesn't read this column, as he might not have realized yet how many items I borrow from his closet, haha)

Buenos días queridos! Con mucho gusto hoy los saludo desde Nueva York. Para mí esta ciudad representa muchas cosas... primero, la capital de la moda de nuestro continente, y es por esa justa razón que estoy aquí. Segundo, porque cumplo dos años de casada con mi esposo justo por estas fechas, y estamos felices festejando (y trabajando mucho por cierto)... y tercero, porque es una ciudad que cautiva a los visitantes. Quizás por el tamaño, quizás por el caos del metro, quizás porque aquí se desarrolla la película de "Breakfast at Tiffany´s" con la maravillosa Audrey Hepburn o quizás porque desde niña soñaba con venir aquí a las carpas de la semana de la moda. 

En mi caso es por varias razones, pero debo confesar que amo la locura de esta ciudad, amo la semana de la moda en Nueva York y amo septiembre porque además, es el mes de la Novia en una de las marcas de joyería más relevantes de nuestra época: Tiffany. Para este mes, Tiffany ha decidido relanzar la vieja tradición de que para la boda, una novia debe llevar siempre como amuletos cuatro cosas: algo viejo, algo prestado, algo nuevo y algo azul; romántico, lo se, pero ya me conocen, soy una romántica enamorada jaja.  

Ya que estamos en esto, hoy le cuento algo: casi siempre uso en mis "looks" algo de mi marido. Alguna camisa, su reloj, un suéter... y para el primer día del Fashion Week usé esta camisa gris... son los primeros en saberlo, jaja, pero debo reconocer que usar algo de él me trae cierta seguridad. No se si sea el olor de su ropa, no se se sea la idea de que con algo suyo pueda sustituir un abrazo de él, o simplemente la idea de traer algo de él que me acompañe todo el día. Dicen por ahí que el día de nuestra boda debemos traer algo viejo, algo prestado, algo nuevo y algo azul, y yo, les cuento que casi en cada "outfit" traigo algo de mi marido; algo que me haga sentir abrazada por él aún cuando no estoy con el. 

Para todas las que viven en el DF o en Guadalajara, les cuento algo... Tiffany estará dando algunos talleres en sus tiendas; de flores, dulcería y todo esto con lo que soñamos para nuestra boda. Ya les estaré contando más sobre las fechas y por supuesto, espero verlas por ahí.
